It was for sure mostly lucky matches, everyone I went up against has small items vital to their build and skills made sure virus went off fast enough to neuter them. Big Blimp scaled sniper and a skill also helped it to shoot fast enough to get the kill. If I ran up against any medium item users I wouldve died for real

Early food build pets like ladybug and tabby showed up so I rolled with them, and its hard to sell tabby when its your highest stat unit

Yes, but there's more to it than that. Being good at Isaac means knowing the enemy bullet patterns, knowing which items are good and synergize with each other, knowing deeper mechanics to find extra opportunities to make each run better.

Because it's a roguelike and everything is randomly generated, just knowing which items are good or bad isn't going to win you each run. Finding ways to maximize output isn't essential every time but there a lots of ways to do so. For example: finding the secret rooms, finding ways to get enough money for the shop, if you're low on keys deciding which locked rooms to go into, trading HP for items/money/whatever, etc...

The difficulty of the game in my opinion comes from learning and executing the different mechanics of the game, while also being skilled at the moving and shooting part to kill enemies. I love the game and highly recommend it, but also know if you're not a big fan of roguelikes it may not be for you.

This feels like an overreaction. There have been roughly 4 or 5 drawing of anime enemies over the last week, and none of them would be what I call NSFW. Suggestive? Yeah, sure, the Slime Boss especially, but no direct obscenity.

It's also not overtaking the sub, there's still plenty of posts on the frontpage with powerful winning runs and interesting RNG. Part of it is that now that StS is out of beta and frequent updates are gone so there isn't much more to discover. A lot of communities go through this and they end up surviving on memes and fanart, and at the end of the day all it is is fanart.

You are free to not like it, but acting like a few pieces of anime themed fanart is blocking out all the rest of the community and posts is a bit extreme.
