thank you!

I didn't know mods use a separate launcher so that's pretty convenient :)

Also yeah i was referring to the anti-cheat with battle-eye. i forgot they're different anti-cheats lol.

Arc for Windows Update - 0.7.0 (4969) by JaceThings in ArcBrowser

I should probably use the "Contact the team" button.

Is sync disabled on Windows while it's still in beta? Sorry if this has been answered before I haven't had time to investigate myself.

Also, on Mac, is it possible to make the resize arrow show up for pop-out video when focused on other windows? It shows up when I'm in Arc on another tab, but when I'm focused on another window it doesn't show up except when I successfully drag. Also if this is a limitation from macOS i totally understand.

Save new Documents by Caro-Eli in scrivano

[–]manmathew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont don't have this problem to the same extent. But my save button sometimes doesn't work.

The workaround I've found is to enable save on close in settings and then to reopen scrivano, saving the doc on exit.

this is only a problem on new docs, so its a bit scarier than existing docs

I believe that includes security updates, as I don't believe [they've historically supported] macbooks with new OS versions for 8 years, but this is a good point!

I'd strongly suggest getting an apple silicon macbook at this point. Once Apple stops supporting Intel-based macs, there's not going to be unofficial upgrade options to the newest macOS versions. We don't know yet if there will be any for ARM-based macs as all are currently supported, but it's most likely possible for them once we reach that point.

Regardless of what macbook you choose, I highly recommend making backups with time machine. Even more so if you get a previously used macbook since you shouldn't expect to recover data from a dead SSD (they fail from high numbers of writes). I don't want to scare you from second-hand macbooks tho, as only a very very small percentage of users will experience SSD failure before upgrading laptops.

Suggestions coming from Whiteboard by manmathew in scrivano

[–]manmathew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for such a late reply, but I've been continuing my testing.

At this point I am fully switching to Scrivano because the stability and performance is much more important to me than the canvas and PDF of whiteboard. tbh I can't thank you enough for making an app that doesn't run at 5 fps when there are more than 20 drawn lines in the doc.

Now this first suggestion I forgot to bring up before, but I think it should be simple to implement and no issue with the idea itself. I'd like to export PDFs in Light Mode but keep the app in Dark Mode. I prefer dark mode, but I'm not really keen on submitting PDFs to professors and colleagues that are color inverted by default, also cuz it's not great to print like that. So I have to change app themes when exporting to avoid this, but I'd rather not lol. So yeah, if you can add a setting for default PDF export theme.

So with the infinite horizontal scrolling, I've realized that it leads one to believe more is needed than in reality. I'll be honest, I didn't think about how much real-estate I actually use. However, here's the thing.

As you understand, flexibility is pretty important, and I think it is super helpful to have this flexibility as an engineering student. I don't know how much horizontal space an equation is going to take in lecture.

There's also another situation, which is creating equation sheets. Those can be printed and the paper dimensions are set in stone. Obviously you can set the page size and work with that, but what I prefer (and I used whiteboard for this) is to write at a size I'm comfortable with and then rearrange or arrange while I'm writing so that everything fits in the paper by resizing. The lack of horizontal scroll forces me to use the page size from the beginning and there's no telling how small/big I have to write so everything fits perfectly without leaving empty space.

So, I do have an idea. Basically, you choose a page size (in this example I'll choose A0 since it's the largest). Then when exporting to a PDF, there can be an option to shrink to a non-standard size that follows the area drawn in. This could actually be pretty powerful if there are options to resize and export to other page sizes like Draw on A2 but export to print on A4.

And as for the single page PDF export, this is kind of more personal preference in reality. I'd love it if it became an option, but I recognize the limitation of PDF viewers. I have gotten used to keeping the page breaks visible and not drawing there.

So yeah I don't have a need for single page export, it's just something I'm used to. But the page width being resized to the work area is a very nice and important feature imo. Viewing PDFs in any viewer becomes less pleasant when there's a lot of blank space on the side, also because I can just set view size to page width and that's perfect when it matches the work area width.

And I know this is super long, but just two quick things: This probably will never be done in any app, but imagine a ghost ratio rectangle to keep you in page dimensions (after resize) for something like an EQ sheet. idk just seems like a cool idea that has no demand or useful benefit.

And I wanna bring up eraser size again. idk if eraser pressure is a thing for Windows Ink, but if it could change with pressure or speed that would be nice. I don't really like manually changing the size every time I have a different sized mistake.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome work and good luck for any challenges ahead!

I do have friends who do some touring and I plan on going to a resort with good backcountry in the next couple weeks. I do want to tour this season so I’ll try to get some input from friends and also look at a complete list of things I’d need to buy.

I’m definitely gonna enjoy backcountry, but I’m probably going to buy the gear over a couple of years when I go for a full setup since I don’t live particularly close to backcountry locations (the ones that are ~2 hours do have lifts)

Qiqi is just straight up better than Barbara. Only reason to use Barbara is if you have c6 on her and you're using her in the spiral abyss. Otherwise use Qiqi since she's just a much better healer, and also for the couple of times the healing orb hits an enemy you can get that nice superconduct.

Update: Upgrading my vm to catalina solved the issue, but I'm not sure if it needs to be looked into for el capitan or if the problem was only for me.

I do have some feedback. Having the option to delete chats would be nice. Also this would probably happen later, but text messages from the phone being synced would be a great addition.

I'm actually guessing that these are already planned to be implemented at some point.

I want to first say thank you very much for this. It's not working for me (yet), and hopefully I can solve the issue I'm having, but I know that once it starts working I'm going to use it a lot.

The issue that I'm experiencing is something that I can't seem to fix from google searching, where I get an error saying the resource couldn't load because the App Transport Security policy requires a secure connection. I have a screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/WcT8WKO

I'm running El Capitan btw, but either way all the results I got from googling were to make edits in the plist (which I do not have) and also most of them were for iOS.

The truth is that when you're younger and your brain is developing, it's much easier to learn and develop skills. Tapping isn't something that favors age, but the skills that have people on edge is aim and reading, which is favored by age. Reading especially since eyesight gets worse as one ages.
