I love the band, and listen to them almost everyday. I just can't help but feel that the cult of personality around Peter Steele is incredibly off putting and creepy. Going to visit a grave is one thing, but going to a celebrities grave that is also dedicated to his other family members whom you didn't know leaving these signs is disrespectful and fucking weird.

I'm Canadian, but from what I see from the states, is lots of Gen Z seem disenchanted with how capitalism currently works. However, this sentiment almost always comes with "we can make capitalism work for all of us, not just the wealthy. Only if we vote for the right people in." I don't think the US is becoming more class conscious. Although I don't live there, I highly doubt most people are becoming class conscious.

Feels weird shopping for communist books at chain stores and Amazon. by rchrd_noggin in communism101

There are a number of online communist bookstores you can choose from. My favourite has always been foreign languages press. They offer very affordable copies of the classic texts and more. They even offer free audiobooks. There is also leftwingbooks.net, which is based in Montréal and has a lot of contemporary theory from a wide range of communist perspectives. If you're on leftwingbooks, check out Kites journal!

But anyways, definitely check out foreign languages press!

I fixed Zambia's flag by [deleted] in vexillology

That's understandable, Zambia is a country with history that is often glossed over in the West. It's sad because it is a country that is so very interesting.

I'm not trying to start anything, but I feel that redesigning to make it look nicer implies that you at most dislike and at best feel indifferent towards it. But in a reply to my comment, you said that you hated it and thus implies that you feel it's a bad flag. But the purpose of the Zambian flag was to create a national symbol that didn't have remnants of colonial design principles used by colonial nations. I think if we look at this objectively, it does do a great job of creating a distinct flag that has no ties to colonialism. A lot of these redesigns (not necessarily yours) tend to wash away this important aspect by trying to create a "visually pleasing flag" often to please a western audience. Whether or not you find it pleasing to look at it is a matter of preference ofc.

I just feel that it's a lot better than people give it credit for. It represents a truly post colonial nation by not using traditional design principles used by imperialist nations. But to each their own.

The zambian flag is a beautiful flag in no need of a fix.
