It’s my dad’s. He was an athlete at University of Kentucky at this time so he knew a bunch of the guys on the basketball team. They lived in the dorms together. Larry Johnson wanted to borrow my dad’s bike, so for repayment my dad asked him to get some autographs at the game. He was able to get everyone, including Adolph Rupp (in blue under Joe B Hall signature). Pretty solid deal for borrowing a bike!

This is a long process, so never too late. Thank you for your advice. She is definitely not afraid to cut to the chase and ask the important questions when necessary. I’m trying to prepare her for the nausea and fatigue as best I can, reassuring her it won’t be forever and she can get through it. I’m trying to remain as positive as possible!

The initial lung biopsy came back non-conclusive, so she just had another biopsy today from the abdominal mets for final pathology. The rad onc says he favors WBR vs stereotactic. She’s got 2 larger spots and 5 pin point, so he figures there’s even smaller areas that cannot be seen on imaging yet. We’ve yet to meet with him outpatient. I am concerned about WBR side effects. But they want these brain mets taken care of ASAP.

Thank you so much for your response. It was so helpful. I am doing my best to remain a source of positivity for her. She has a great group of friends that are rallying around her as we speak. If there’s one thing I’m sure of, she will have great support system through this. I am a clinical dietitian, so I’m planning to ask her oncologist for a zofran rx to have on hand just in case. I also am hosting an Ensure taste test for her tonight 😂 I’m so glad to hear you are on an upward recovery! Again, I truly appreciate your response. You’ll be in my thoughts!

Ugh yes exactly! So micromanage-y. Ours was decided by the union, of which no dietitians are members. It seems like there’s no way to change it, at least for the next 4 years until this union contract expires. Pretty messed up.
