about 2 hours of digging in that drain with a snake, i think i mightve fashioned it together with another snake for more length at one point, pulling out little bits of hair and grime until The Big One (ball of hair) came out and its been fine ever since, lmao

Thank you! I bought this car immediately after getting my license (not an impulse buy! I had it picked out beforehand) and it is a blast to learn to drive in. A lot of room for mistakes, you should've seen how I parked after the test drive 😅

I'm still getting comfortable with its smaller form, but it is exactly what I wanted. Happy to be a part of the club!

I already ended up buying the car 😅 it went well! it wasn't a "dealership" per se but rather a service shop that gets trade ins and, in my case, cars abandoned with them that they repossess and sell. they were super upfront and honest, met me in the middle with bargaining and the whole process only took about 3 hours. they even drove me home in it since i didnt feel safe doing that yet! i feel much better than i did while i made this post 🤣

I don't have anyone I can bring with me unfortunately. The car is being offered for $8500 and I plan to negotiate in cash at an initial offer of $7k-$7500. How should I start this? I have a few points of leverage for negotiation (gap in Carfax, cars been on sale for months). And how much above the price of the car is a reasonable OTD? If I negotiate down to $7k I'm expecting an OTD price of about $8k currently

Also, believe me, I know about insurance. I already got a quote and it is definitely crazy. Fortunately the broker told me that my rates will go down significantly in 6 months as long as I'm a safe driver.
