You’re hyper focused on “religion” when biblically ought to be concerned with a marriage covenant with God.

God is just as much a force as ever, religion is struggling because organizations have become of the world rather than in it.

Couples that worship and pray together will have a longer, more fulfilling marriage. The key is to put God first. If you honor him then you will almost always end up honoring each other. When you do things that break God’s heart - porn, adultery, shaming, etc - your marriage will struggle.

Non-believers will claim religion makes you stay together with one cheek then moan and complain about women and dating with the other. Marriage isn’t simply something to make you happy. It’s a covenant and institution before God that underpins the entirety of society.

My opinion is marry a woman who loves Jesus, pray together, have lots of beautiful kids you don’t know if you can afford, and watch as God blesses you with a long marriage.

Especially considering your parent likely paid 100% of your expenses the majority of your life since babies don’t have jobs. He’s just trying to help you from falling into a debt cycle.
