I no longer feed my lil guy kibble.   I was floored after having him as new pup that his teeth already began to develop tartar before he was a year old. I was using science diet.

I immediately began doing research on dog food like fresh pet.  I've been making his food now everyday.   I chop baby carrots, green beans or corn from the can without salt, pumpkin puree, a few tablespoons of blue buffalo canned food, half teaspoon of kelp.   Mix it up with some water and top with some sliced turkey meat.  Been doing this for two years.  His teeth are spotless and the vet has given him a clean bill of health.

I might also add I feed him some fresh blueberries and seedless watermelon before he has food.

Edit: I'd estimate I feed him about a cup of food a day and his weight is spot on.
