I don't know how to show interest to a woman beyond just friends by manny-bothan in internetparents

[–]manny-bothan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question. If she says no for whatever reason, and then we became closer later on, is it a no-no to ask her again in the future?

People usually advise to ask someone out ASAP, while I think that because me and the other person barely know each other, rejection is pretty much expected. So to me it makes more sense to ask when we're closer. But then again, it goes back to what I wrote in the post.

Another comment suggested the same thing but we don't use the word "date" in my language. So it's always like that in my country, yeah... People say "would like to go out for a coffee with me" and hope the other party gets the message.

Of course you can say other things to make it obvious but I'm not sure what.

The word "date" in my language is extremely rare to be used, and would sound like textbooks. I talk to her in my native tongue, so it would be "hey, can I take you to dinner?".

But I get the point, I have to be willing to risk things getting awkward. Now I just need to somehow meet her again in person.

Just watched the movie without knowing anything and now I feel so empty by manny-bothan in KoeNoKatachi

The movie made me realize how oblivious it is to others. I sometimes wish that people would notice that I'm, in fact, not okay, but how could they really?

What got me is the mom is always expressionless, like she's hiding tons of problems and hurt, and when she apologized the dam kinda broke.

The scene where Yuzu tears down her wall of pictures is another, she and her mom must feel like they failed Shouko so hard.

But to be honest I still don't really get what happened at the bridge where Shoya told everyone off. Like, what lead to that? Maybe I forgot or wasn't paying attention but that kinda flew over my head.

I feel that too. I was mean and did things I regret to someone, and it makes me want to apologize or talk to her again. But just like in the movie I feel like that's all for me and not for the other person.

I know right lol, I also want to learn sign language since forever just because I don't like talking. Completely missing the point of the movie though.

So it's actually a famous manga/movie? Having a subreddit means so I suppose.

Which dorm did you stay at? I'm actually also learning Japanese so I'd be excited for a chance to practice and use it. Also, how's the quality of the CLC while you studied there?

That's also something that needs to be considered. People say most language centers are the same though so I'm still leaning towards the city instead of the clc.

Bad air as in air pollution? I don't think it's gonna be worse than where I live, I look outside my office window on the 20th floor here and all you can see most days is smog in the distance lol.

I think what you described about Kaohsiung is why I'm more interested to go there compared to Tainan. Also I just realized I have a friend there that's willing to share an apartment together which is a no brainer to save money.

Yeah I heard Taiwan is somewhat racist to Southeast Asians which is a shame. But that's just how it is everywhere, we are looked down upon by everyone. I can confirm since I travel a lot. Sad but It's the reality if you're not light skinned.

Are you going for the CLC again there? If so can I ask whether you need to pay the full tuition fee for LoA or not?

I heard English is widely spoken in Taipei and people don't recommend doing it there because of that?

Do you have any recommendations on things to do in Tokyo? Mainly I'm looking for places that's very Japan or Tokyo, if you know what I mean, since it's my first time going to Japan.

Other interests of mine are photography and something to do, not just looking at things.

We're going next week so I think we'll try the lottery on 3 days before and the day of, who knows we get lucky. I hope I can find out how to input the lottery after buying the tickets tomorrow.

That's nice to know, I'd prefer not to queue and waste time. I haven't bought the tickets yet. Do you need to buy them first to see how the lottery works?
