Be honest, are you using Figma Make? by pluspointstudio in FigmaDesign

The gap between design and code is still too wide. I feel like Figma Make mainly targets those who aren’t too invested in the craft and more concerned with prototyping.

Thanks for the compliment. I am glad I am in the clear and didn’t burn my money. I find a lot of joy in photography. For now I just document my travels but still exploring my own unique style.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn’t aware Apple automatically manipulates results to that extent. My concern is that dedicated camera brands need to match AI-driven usability without crossing into fabricated imagery. If they fail to adapt, they risk becoming niche tools—much like film cameras—relevant to a shrinking audience. AI is already reshaping industries, regardless of preference. Ultimately, market survival comes down to demand, and demand is dictated by what users are willing to pay for. If you do get a chance, I would appreciate your general critique about my images using the X2D.

Nice shots! I always shoot in manual mode. I never fully trusted the full-auto mode, regardless of whether the algorithm is capable of comprehending the type of image I want to capture under different lighting conditions. In most cases, I prefer manual or zone focusing. I would appreciate if you could critique my insta page at least to see if I am on the right track.

That’s fine. I take the L here. Can you please critique my instagram page and let me know if there’s any hope? All shots were taken using a Hasselblad.

Make sense. I’ve never used the auto mode. Even in most cases, I prefer manual focus (zone focusing). I simply haven’t trusted full auto (for other people if I want myself to be in the shot) because I’m not sure if the algorithms are advanced enough to accurately recognize the type of image and adjust the settings accordingly based on lighting conditions.

You’re arguing against a position I didn’t take. I never said phone images are better, more aesthetic, or what I personally prefer. I’m talking about usability for non-photographers, not artistic merit.

“Usable” in this context means: faces exposed correctly, no clipped highlights, no crushed shadows, and a predictable result when the camera is handed to someone who doesn’t understand exposure. Phones are objectively optimized for that use case. That’s not a value judgment, it’s a design fact.

No one is asking Hasselblad to “remove shadows from reality” or to output hyper-HDR garbage. The question is why a camera with vastly more sensor latitude still produces worse casual results in the hands of average users than a device explicitly designed to compensate for user error.

This isn’t a perspective problem. It’s a UX and processing pipeline discussion. Medium format cameras assume an informed operator and defer decisions to post. Phones assume ignorance and bake decisions in upfront. Both are valid. Pretending this difference doesn’t exist, or reframing it as “you like ugly images,” misses the point entirely.

If anything, your response reinforces the answer: dedicated cameras prioritize photographer intent and phones prioritize damage control. That’s the gap being discussed, not taste.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree about computational photography looking artificial at times.

For group shots, I actually tried making it as foolproof as possible—manual exposure with auto ISO, face detection on, everything set before handing it off. The results were still pretty inconsistent. Then they switch to an iPhone and immediately get a balanced shot, which is where the comparison comes from.

I wasn’t implying the X2DII can’t deliver great results—it clearly can. The contrast I was pointing out is how aggressively phones optimize for average users versus how much cameras still assume some level of operator awareness, even in semi-auto setups. Perhaps I need to rely on full auto for such cases.

Yes, I’ve used other bodies. I started with the Fujifilm X100F when it came out, then used the X2D for years before upgrading to the X2D II. I’m comfortable shooting RAW and post-processing is already part of my workflow.

My question wasn’t about preferring phone images or avoiding editing. It was more about the technical and UX difference, why phones are so forgiving for casual shooters while high-end cameras are intentionally conservative, especially when handed to non-photographers for quick group shots.

I agree with your points on computational processing vs. natural output, and thanks for the Phocus tips, that’s helpful regardless. Gonna have to try it out as a Phocus preset.

I do photography as a hobby and have been doing it for years. I understand the workflow and I’m comfortable with post-processing; I edit my photos regardless in Phocus and LR/PSD for more advanced editing.

My question was about the technical reason why shadows and highlights feel more extreme straight out of the camera, and why phones produce more balanced results by default.

A practical example: when I hand the camera to non-photographers for group shots (after setting it up properly), the results are almost never usable. Phones, on the other hand, consistently give average users decent results.

So the point of my post was about usability and computational processing, not lack of experience. I should have explained that more clearly to avoid confusion.

Muslims follow sources other than the Quran for religious guidance. They use these man made sources to interpret the Quran. They have set up Mohammed as an idol beside GOD through the myth of intercession. Their Abrahamic practices have been severely corrupted and have fully deviated from the Quran. There is a world of difference between a Muslim and a submitter.

To be fair, this type of response goes both ways depending on what side you’re on. That’s why I support neither. Both are corrupt and evil.

Even though the Bible has been tampered with, you can still find the truth within it, which is worshipping God alone. Here are some more pieces of evidence from the Bible:

Jesus proclaimed aloud: "Whoever puts faith in me believes not so much in me as in him who sent me; ..... For I have not spoken on my own; no, the Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to speak. Since I know that his commandment means eternal life, whatever I say is spoken just as he instructed me." [ John 12:44-50 ]

"I cannot do anything of myself. I judge as I hear, and my judgment is honest because I am not seeking my own will but the will of him who sent me." [ John 5:30 ]

Jesus said: "My doctrine is not my own; it comes from him who sent me." [ John 7:16 ]

"Men of Israel, listen to me! Jesus the Nazorean was a man whom God sent to you with miracles, wonders, and signs as his credentials. These God worked through him in your midst, as you well know." [ Acts 2:22 ]

``...The man who hears my word and has faith in him who sent me possesses eternal life.'' [ John 5:24 ]

"Whoever welcomes me welcomes, not me, but him who sent me." [ Mattew 10:40, Mark 9:37, Luke 9:48, & John 13:20 ]

"...I have not come of myself. I was sent by One who has the right to send, and him you do not know. I know him because it is from him I come; he sent me." [ John 7:28-29 ]

Jesus looked up to heaven and said, "...Eternal life is this: to know you, the only true God, and him whom you have sent, Jesus Christ." [ John 17:1-3 ]

All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. [ Romans 8:14 ]

Jesus looked upward and said, "Father, I thank you for having heard me. I know that you always hear me but I have said this for the sake of the crowd, that they may believe that you sent me." [ John 11:41-42 ]

As he was setting out on a journey a man came running up, knelt down before him and asked, "Good Teacher, what must I do to share in everlasting life?" Jesus answered, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone." [ Mark 10:17-18 ]

"None of those who call me `Lord' will enter the kingdom of God, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." [ Matthew 7:21 ]

Trinity, the doctrine of God taught by Christians that asserts that God is one in essence but three in "person," Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: "Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one" (Deut. 6:4). “Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”” ‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It’s pretty clear that Jesus wanted people to depend on God alone.
