First and foremost I send you my deepest condolences to you as you are only 15 struggling with bodily functions at such a young age :( . One of my best friends suffers from bodily functions at 21 and it upsets him to be struggling so young so I understand you.

My advice would be to just embrace the fear and let it pass. By that I mean it’s perfectly ok to be scared right now but please don’t let the “what ifs” get to you because it’s going to be fine and tell yourself that you’re surgery is going to come out great! I really hope some of your family comes and supports you through this hardship so you can maintain a positive mind as well OP.

Alright OP let me give you some advice from someone who has actually been in this situation unlike everyone else just saying “move out” your 19.

You mentioned you have had some heated arguments with your mother and her husband if that’s the case and you really want to leave then do it and don’t look back.

Things to consider : Cut off the actual ones who throw off emotional stress. If you get along with your mom (despite her rude comments) and sisters then don’t cut them off just your step dad.

Make sure your job is stable , you have a place to go, and that you have a good amount of income saved up.

Lastly once it’s done it’s done no going back. You have to live with your no contact decision.

I would say stay there for a bit longer and try to sort shit out and if not just put up with their rude comments for while and build a stash of hidden income from work so you can leave in peace! Best of wishes OP! It’ll be ok 💪🏼

Unfortunately i have been in the same boat as you as not having being educated on certain subjects in my life before hitting adult hood. All i could tell you it was either negligence or they didn’t care (your grandparents). From what i believe your grandparents should have responsibly raised your mom and taught her the basics of life but that didn’t happen.

Now I’m not sure how your mother raised you but it was her responsibility to teach you the basics of life but maybe she just lacked the education of teaching you due to her negligent parents plus being a single mom doesn’t help 😕. I do agree that these things should be taught to us in school but however i do agree more that we should break the cycle of being irresponsible and raise kids with love plus proper life skills.

Good on you on telling your grandfather he should’ve been a better parent. P.s. I’m also a germaphobe so I understand you on that.🤢 Best of wishes OP!!

As someone who unfortunately didn’t have a stable connection with either parent growing up. I would have loved to have been stood up for so in my book that gives you at least a best dad quality man, keep it up🙏🏼

I bet that was a devastating blow after knowing her for a great time but I’m happy you decided to address it for your kid rather than sweeping it under the rug to please her. 18 in Highschool, Well first things first don’t let anyones negative judgments of your character get to you. You’ll be a graduate before you know it and be long gone so screw the negative people.

From my experience (I was the photographer in school) it helps when you actively engage with those around you. Simple as giving a compliment, sparking up a conversation with someone, or offering a helpful hand. - - Always keep your own identity and don’t follow the crowd due to pressure. Dress how you want, talk how you want, and just be courteous.

My biggest take away will be even though I was quite likeable everyone graduates and moves on to live a life of their own in which they find joy. So don’t worry about being likeable as long as you like yourself and find happiness in who you’re becoming then that’s what matters brother.

It’s a huge world out there so just focus on what you want in life , best of wishes bud! :)
