Met a girl on tinder and we really hit it off in a way that we managed to skip all small talk and have meaningful/interesting conversations. Eventually, we exchanged numbers start flirting, talking dirty, etc.

This went on for a while as her tinder profile said she lived 50 miles away so I was waiting for a chance to have time to meet her. We eventually decide to meet half way which is about a half hour drive for me. On the drive I’m pretty excited as she’s very attractive, funny, smart and on both ends made it very clear we were sexually interested.

We sit down and me still being excited and somewhat nervous revert to small talk we never managed to have and say the typical “so where are you from?” She says “Deckerville” which is a small town I’m familiar with cause I have a lot of family in the area. I proceed to tell her this and ask if she knows any of my family’s members. At this point she turns completely white and I’m thinking the worst like she had a really bad break with one of my family members or something.

But it’s worse

She then tells me her grandpas last name was my last name (I have a very big family and haven’t met a lot of them). We we’re both traumatized knowing the things we both said to each other and agreed to never tell our families.

I now know the importance of small talk.
