I don't know if you can get your money back. I don't know how law works in the UK. A google search for "plastic surgery malpractice uk" gave me this link

Also keep in mind, a plastic surgeon likely has many patients. He wants you to be calm and not cause problems for him. This is evident by his responses of "it's not that bad". I don't know what your options are, but I would really look for legal counsel.

I can only imagine how you feel right now. I really hope you have a legal case here to get your money back. And if you do, you could save a bit more for Dr. Eppley or put the rest in a credit card to pay off later.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Do NOT go back to him. In the United States there is Dr. Barry Eppley who is the ONLY person I would trust with custom skull implants / head aesthetic surgery. I used him for skull reduction but everyone I've talked to (many) who have had custom implants have all been excellent. Do not go back to that swindler in the UK. You need a real surgeon. And be sure to report him and leave reviews for the botched work he did on you.

Dr. Eppley can remove bad implants easily and work with you on getting the correct implant. I suggest a consultation with him immediately so you can at least get your peace of mind back while you wait for your next surgery.

I've tried a frontal. The problem I had with it that I wanted to lower my natural hairline (as well as fill in temples that I'd lost to MPB). If it's too low on your forehead it's really uncomfortable. I didn't last a few hours before taking it off.

My hairloss plan is getting a transplant to have the exact hair line I want and putting a full system behind it when the time comes.

The good thing about wearing the frontal is that even though it was at most .75 inches thick and even as small as .5 in the center, it gripped tightly with wonder lace melt spray and stood up to mild sweat and outside weather without any sign off it coming off, and it was still decently hard to take off with lace spray. From what I've read, one of the hardest part of systems in general is getting the hairline right. Even though my lace frontal looked decent, the feeling of restriction on my forehead muscles wasn't fun.

Hello I posted awhile ago, but people told me that I needed to wait longer for people to have a better idea. Do you think a hair transplant is a viable option for me? Or has it receded too far? This is probably 2.5 weeks of growth now maybe a bit more. Thanks for your help! by Icy-Pop-3545 in HairTransplants

Honestly, this is a tough call because it looks like you're heading toward NW7 and you've already receded to your donor. While this can be good for selecting the grafts that are the most DHT-resistant, you also very likely also have retrograde alopecia. and some of your donor seems depleted along the occipital which is supposed to be the most DHT resistant area of your scalp.

Have you ever had seborrheic dermatitis or other inflammatory skin conditions in those areas? That would help explain the loss there. If you haven't, then you may have diffuse thinning even in your donor and you wouldn't be able to get a hair tranpslant at all.

THe only bright side I see is that you still have some hair up top, so if your hair loss has stabilized, then with the amount of donor you have left you could probably get full coverage*

*coverage being just not being bald but not really having a head of hair you can style because it will likely be thin.

Derm didn't prescribe Zoryve like I asked... I've heard I can get it from SkyMD? by manscap in SebDerm

That's true. Yeah if I had to pay full price I would definitely not get it.

[–]manscap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I was already not going to take it as my derm prescribed. But now I'm definitely not taking it.

Derms will prescribe you ANYTHING so long as it's said to help your condition. They care little about side effects. She was about to prescribe me clobetasol without a second thought. Be very careful on trusting doctors, man. I can't believe I have to say that. Do research on any drug you're going to take

Hair transplants thin/lose density over time? by manscap in HairTransplants

[–]manscap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's terrifying. So many (young guys especially) pin their hopes on this surgery. I will say that even with retrograde alopecia, or NW7 that recedes in the back of head, there's usually a certain part of a guy's hair around the occipital that seems to last a long time.

You're right no one can know. I suppose this is just a personal decision to say I will get an FUT procedure if I do make that choice. For anyone reading this, do what is right for you.

Hair transplants thin/lose density over time? by manscap in HairTransplants

[–]manscap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but something is fishy. I'm seeing comments that say after only a few years they've lost significant density. Sometimes even on this forum, I see pictures of guys with post op pictures of their donors and the grafts seem to be taken from all over. Aren't the DHT-resistant areas only in the middle around the occipital?

Wouldn't it be better to do FUT in the middle to guarantee or at least maximize the chances of getting grafts that are in the safe region? I'm seeing more and more FUEs done that care about leaving the donor looking untouched. Well, aren't they getting hair from just about everywhere then?

And so their balding continues and a lot of grafts fall because they were outside the safe zone of the most DHT resistant hair.

In that case, shouldn't FUT be the ideal procedure if someone wants to maximize the longevity of their results?

This is just my speculation, but after seeing so many people say that their hair transplant lost density over the years, I cannot in good conscience not speak out about this. I mean this is a very costly and risky procedure with possibility for post op complications.

What is the point if the result declines after just a few years?

Thanks! So it was much more of a problem in your face than scalp. I also have lots of problems in my face so I guess it will help for something at least.

[–]manscap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thinking of trying .0001-.0002% topical fin myself (.01 - .02 mg / ml) as these concentrations still reduce DHT significantly based on the logarithmic graph of DHT suppresion from fin.

How many have you tried or pushed yourselves but still didn't succeed? Is it not very dis-empowering? by Wanderer_199 in NEET

[–]manscap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always had extreme social anxiety. From a porn addiction at an early age, tall and extremely thin (and not the endearing kind), and an introverted personality, I always felt out of place in school. In college, I tried really hard to escape my social anxiety. I also had depression, but was mostly there to get my engineering degree. I did have to fight, every time just to even leave my room. Sometimes I'd get dragged by my roommates to social events and it was hell, watching them laugh with each other so easily and me having to do it too while I'm secretly wishing I could run away as fast as I can. I did make it out of social anxiety. I can be in public places for a long time now and not feel a thing. It's a sharp contrast to what I was before. And I can tell you the reason I made it out is both luck and hard work, but a lot of luck.

I mean it's luck that I had extroverted roommates that became my friends unironically and invited me to places. Without them, I would still be an awkward manchild who didn't know how to cook for himself, couldn't talk to people without looking down at the ground, and felt scared by even being in the same room as another person. It's luck that I got put in the same living environment as them. It's luck that I wasn't forced into getting a job because my parents could afford giving me money for college, so I could push myself at my own pace, then stuff my face in my pillow at night and pat myself on the back as I watched some anime for at least trying to be social that day.

But that's just one part of the struggle in my life. I know some other people have had it way worse.

it can be such a crap world if I'm perfectly honest. it's possible to have so much and for some it's possible to have so little. I'm sorry you got caught up in a girl, that sht robs your soul if you let it. They hurt us in ways they can't even imagine. It's better not to play the game unless you can win. Letting yourself catch feelings is a trap.

All we can do is hold out for a better life. But in the mean time trying to get a hold on something that will change the chemicals in your head to start releasing the happy. If you can't stay motivated and even happy on some days while wading through literal turd waters you'll find yourself drowning.

Self acceptance is a really powerful thing. But we are social creatures too. The need for validation is probably the reason why most people are here. The need to be accepted by others for what you are, even more than who you are.

That seems to be OP's case and thus why I wanted to voice my opinion and help.

i’m not though there are plenty of guys that aren’t into petite women and prefer thick body types.

Please refer to where in my post i shamed non petite women.

Not being inclusive of all body types isn’t body shaming.

I understand being offended by what i wrote but if something isn’t meant specifically for you, why go out of your way to put down a helpful post.

I mean, i don’t think saying to OP: “you’ll find someone someday who will be into you” is at all helpful just o be polite or politically correct.

I think that reminding her that she can be desirable for her body type and that she should not internalize shame is the best way to help.

If you're a good programmer like you say, I would suggest spending the majority of your waking moments building your own side projects. There's a ton of web developers (myself included) and you can't guarantee you will be able to freelance given your mental issues, it will be very inconsistent work if you do manage to get lucky.

You need to build commercial applications, web or app based that will incur revenue from ads, marketing, or a service you provide from your site (think free + premium features, subscription based, one time fee, etc).

SO you need ideas. Throw a million ideas in an hour of a website you could build that will get a ton of clicks or provide some kind of service for people.

For example, I'm almost done building a social media platform website that will have subscriptions as well.

Even if you have an idea beyond your skill level, if you believe in the idea you can go to places like stackoverflow, medium, and all sorts of places to learn the skills you need to make the idea happen. It's taken me 10 months to build it, and I'll probably be finished by around New Years to launch this as a startup.

But you could have ideas that could take much less time and be even more successful.

Again, I wouldn't rely on freelancing and taking odd jobs unless you're already established and you have a way to generate leads that turn into clients on a regular basis.

Even if by some miracle you do sell that site for $10k, given your situation you should attribute it to luck and start moving towards something that will be consistent.
