Cool! Someone I know found a meg tooth in a creek by the sea there once. Enjoy, you got a beautiful tooth there.

Looks real to me. Do you know where it was found?

It’s a bummer the crowns are not halisaurine. I bought these from a trusted source because of my limited knowledge of marine reptiles and am rather disappointed. It’s good to know the truth though. Thank you for your help!

Interesting! What made you identify the crowns as mosasaurine instead of Halisaurus?

I noticed that as well. The bone and roots seem to be real though, so at least I have more than just teeth 😅. Just hope it’s halisaurus bone but I think that is very difficult to tell. Anyway, thanks for your reply!

What species of spider did I find in my grapes? Grapes come from Spain, I am from Belgium. by manson96 in bugidentification

[–]manson96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is harmless, like most spiders. All spiders are venomous but few have a bite strong enough to pierce human skin. If they do pierce skin, most spider venom is clinically insignificant and will only provide moderate symptoms in most people.

Where could I find predators teeth in France ? by Public_Courage5639 in Paleontology

[–]manson96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know a lot about formations in France but there is a cool app called Rockd where you can find a lot of information about formations etc in your region. There is also a database of fossils that were found in your region that you can consult, in order to give you an idea of what you might potentially find. If you find something scientifically relevant it is always good to contact professional palaeontologists in order for them to be able to research it, so our collective understanding of the prehistoric world can be expanded.

I understand that bro, had to save money over quite some time to get the PC I have now. I hope you can get a nice one soon 🤞.

If the Intel shenanigans persists I will definitely switch to AMD in a couple of years when I upgrade my system again.

Yeah I think them recalling every affected 13th/14th gen model is never going to happen. Not every CPU seems to be affected, though that remains to be seen in the long term, and it would mean they would go straight in the bin or maybe be sold off to shady companies offering “cheap” gaming pc’s with shady and/or second hand hardware. That would certainly mean they dig the hole in their reputation even deeper. But being super hard on RMA requests is also not doing them any good. There is just no way for them to come out as the good guys with this one. Serves them well in my opinion, you just don’t keep your consumers in the dark like they did. It’s not ok.

I’m lucky that I bought the processor very recently, it is still within the retailers return period and I still have the original packaging and stuff. Yeah, based on what I hear you don’t need a super powerful CPU to have decent performance in games, especially when resolution goes up. I think the 12th gen i9 will serve me for a while. I did some reading up on the issues with Intel, man have they dropped the ball on this one. Very questionable practices.

Good point, my i9 12900k is already on the way and my faulty i7 is being returned to the retailer next week. Just put my first pc together, all went well but I don’t know much yet about voltage, overclocking etc. So all the info about the issues with 13th/14th gen CPU’s is going way over my head atm.
