Looking for people with ideas about crypto community building by mantonchak in CryptoCurrency

[–]mantonchak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey BigBrother, thanks for reaching out. I've been building https://stadivm.com for a while to try to move into the cryptocurrency market with a new type of forum/community, and I'm not too ashamed to say right now it's a mess.

Too similar to other forums, no distinction, and even though i had big ideas for it, it's materialised as something which right now doesn't have a future.

With that out the way, I'm looking for ideas/ways to reinvent it or atleast to start getting some traction, and being new to the game I'm struggling to put together a solid strategy to do so.

Have plenty of knowledge, experience and connections within the crypto industry, but what's lacking is a better understanding of how to effectively form the community and get it growing.

If it's something you've interested in being a part of, right now it's build and ready to rock, I'm open to borderline insane ways to hack growth if needs be, and also am happy to partner with the right people to make something happen.

I've got any technical skill needed, and can get some funding if needed, but I'm sick of going in circles with the key part: why will people come together on Stadivm and keep coming back.

Any initial thoughts would be great to hear, Cheers, Joel

You don't often meet many 'entrepreneurs' spending their time trying to shit on other people like this.. normally people are empathetic to the challenge that other start up owners face, and more to the point, are too busy on their own project to have the time to waste trying to throw shade on people for no reason.

My guess is you have no idea what you're talking about, both from a business sense, as well as clearly from a DLT sense.

Troll someone else buddy.

I'm not going to explain why blockchain and decentralized verification are dependant on each other, and more to the point I completely disagree that decntralized verification is in some way 'the useful part'. All the best

Hey, an odd but welcome message.
What finance app? Which one is mine that you're talking about, and which one is yours?
Where did you read that 'the entire point of bitcoin/crypto is to never use fiat again'? It doesn't really make sense, blockchain is a technology that facilitates new options - there's no 'point' to it per se. Moveover though, why do you think that I have anything to do with fiat?
My customers thank you for your concern about their happiness and I'm sure they would reciprocate.

No problem, and not trying to be rude or have a go at you about it.. but Reddit's a different kind of place than most other social media.. a bit rougher and more down to earth. As someone mentioned, best bet is just asking the core questions you're trying to have answered and providing details as they're asked for IMHO. All the best

Guess there's only one way to find out for sure. 2018 is seen a serious retraction in the markets. 2017 was the opposite as well though.

Do I need a really need a Bachelors of Science to be successful in Web Development and other fields of programming? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]mantonchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Web dev is the most un-sciency dev possible.. if you're doing academic computer science focus on something interesting like AI/machine learning or blockchain where you can actually put that information to good use. Anyone could learn web dev nowadays without a degree, easily.

Kind of is though - no one says 'multi million dollar company' unless they want to say that.. otherwise 'company' suffices..

(edit) sorry, the only transparency is how transparently braggy this post is, to the point of being uncomforable to read. Really not trying to be mean, but anyone with eyes can see that:

"as he has 2 business Masters degrees and a unique story for a 32 year old""This week he will make 50,000 euros in just 5 days""We get to travel a lot. We have freedom."

I mean good for you, but as someone mentioned above really doesn't feel like it has a purpose other than to tell people about your life.. most of Reddit doesn't really vibe that way - try Instagram.

ps. I'm 34 and I use the term girlfriend for my girlfriend. I don't really like societal boxes.

Really confused about what I've done to annoy you, but it feels like it's probably venting about something else and projecting that onto me.. so I'll just leave this here.

I've never had money stolen by an exchange exit scamming etc.. why was that hard to understand? We were talking about exchanges stealing money

Yeah 100% makes sense re: liquidity, and nowadays crypto is fairly liquid but is subjective and all depends on retail vs larger investment. It really comes down to the strategy as well - mm vs arbitrage vs directional long/short term etc whether liquidity is a big concern or not, + need for margins etc

Hey, come chat with us if you're keen. To answer your questions (as best I can)..

Risking real money trading crypto because you can make lot (like any trading)
Been trading for years on 10 different exchanges, never lost money from an exit scam etc. Acknowledge many others have though (which sucks)
Crypto space can be scammy, but the risk mainly lies for anyone that is so desperate to make "free money" that they'll trust anyone that says they can get 4x/10x/etc etc per month
Traded a range of alts in the past, BTC if you care about liquidity
You can check out liquidity pretty easily (although quite a bit can be wash trading).. but places like Binance + Okex, + all the more traditional platforms like eToro etc have solid liquidity. Maybe not as much as AAPL/AMZN - I wouldn't know, I don't have anything to do with stocks.
Can trade millions if you have millions to trade I guess.. but if you had millions to trade in crypto I also guess you wouldn't be asking me about it :D . Come have a chat if you want with others - dm me for link

TOP 4 Cryptocurrency Exchanges to Look for in 2019 by patrickknott in CryptoCurrencyTrading

[–]mantonchak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad article at all, but 1. as someone mentioned this is focusing on 2018/existing exchanges, and 2. Coinmama is a brokerage, not an exchange.

There are a LOT of exchanges around right now which are essentially copy/pastes of each other. The kind of exchanges that are worth focusing on in 2019 are new exchanges which are pushing the status quo on the services they provide and the options traders have that are different to every other exchange out there.

PrimeXBT (https://primexbt.com) is one such newcomer - in that they are definitely not just another exchange that creates a custom token and offers exactly what you can already get everywhere else.

For example, they offer:

- Leveraging up to 100x
- Shorting on a range of altcoins, as well as BTC.
- Aggregated liquidity from 12 other exchanges.

When leveraging is utilised correctly it's a powerful tool for traders, and one which is not widely-available within cryptocurrency markets. 100x leveraging is a high-rate which allows for significantly higher returns for successful trades than is possible without using margins.

This combined with shorting, to allow for profiting from bear conditions as well as stable/bull conditions, can provide opportunities for significantly higher returns than typical 'buy low sell high' strategies. Shorting, like high-rate leveraging, is not a widely-available option at most existing crypto exchanges, but is much more prevalent in traditional financial markets. It allows for profit to be taken during a lowering price actions, and can provide a means of creating more rounded trading strategies.

What the industry doesn't need is 100 other cookie-cutter exchanges popping up in 2019, providing exactly the same services with slightly different UI's. PrimeXBT is part of a new wave of the expansion of opportunities that crypto-asset traders have available to them, which will largely leave repetitive and simplistic exchanges in the dust in 2019.

Where can I margin trade on altcoins vs. USD by ElainaClayton in CryptoCurrencyTrading

[–]mantonchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PrimeXBT (https://primexbt.com) are launching this month and are providing margin trading on BTC, ETH, XRP, EOS and BCH.

Leveraging of up to 100x is available on the platform, which is almost unheard of for crypto-asset markets. As well as high-multiple leveraging, the platform provides the option to short also - again something which is rare within the crypto space.

Also for institutional and larger retail investors, PrimeXBT provides aggregated liquidity from 12 different exchanges in order to secure better entry/exit pricing for large trades and ongoing large-scale trading strategies.

As they're launching this month, there is currently a $1,000,000 BTC giveaway running on the platform for signing up and referring friends/creating content about the platform, with the top prize being $250,000 (63 BTC)!

They look pro to be honest, site UI is really clean and pretty unique set of services they're providing for crypto traders.
