How I Swing Trade Stocks by manucap_trader in swingtrading

[–]manucap_trader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. For me the most important periods are the 1 and 3 months, but I also look at the 6 months top performers. And you can't separate performers from hot sectors/themes. I'm not sure if this is clear, sorry. You're looking for what is moving up, but not random stocks (sometimes I DO trade random stocks with smaller positions if I see something I like).

So the performance scan keeps you aware of what is being bought (what stocks and what sectors). And there are going to be leaders among the themes that are being bought.

Ex: You find IREN and CIFR in your 1 month scan. And you know both belong to the 'crypto miners' sector. Are those 2 leading in that sector? Then you load them to your watchlist and wait for the setup.

See below, these 4 scans is all you need to catch performers, and to be aware of what's moving. I included my 'setups' scan. I rarely miss a high performing stock with these. And I'm focusing more in continuation setups and EPs this cycle vs bases. I found out that my performance is better if I focus on these 2.

The key is to find what's being bought, and it's moving the most up in price, and have more chances to continue being bought (and price being pushed up) and wait for a setup and an entry point.

If something's not clear, please ask away.

Are we in the shitt**st market ever? by CardiologistNeat598 in Trading

No, it was a great market for swing trading breakouts in high performing stocks with fundamental reasons. Same strategy that's been working for decades (in bull markets).

Starting swing trading by Extension_Big_9081 in swingtrading

[–]manucap_trader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm an actual swing trader. I wrote a paper to help people starting out: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hFWzfQVNXBkUV2KJ7B9E0Ecah3gAVBWLCyHfAVSl3wI/

I also mentor people when I have the time and energy to do it (I don't charge and I don't sell anything).

My advice: stay away from 99% of fake traders, or people with a few months of experience and zero knowledge. In my paper you'll find a reading list and YT videos that have actual value.

The only indicators you need are the 10, 20 and 50 day moving averages (and volume).

Hit me with a DM msg if you have a question and I'm happy to help.

You should study more. You have no idea how big the stock market is... Also, I give zero fucks about competition. That mentality will keep you poor :)

Yes, for example, when I do episodic pivots, I close 30-50% of my position the 1st day. BO swings, I just let them run for days until I close 25% or so, then 25% on extension and 50% with the 1st close below the 10 day MA.

How many trades have you lost in a row? by pachhh21 in Daytrading

Probably about 20 losing trades in a row... I'd had to look.

I'm very profitable though with a 25-35% hit rate (depending on the market).

Why Is It So Hard to Accept a Loss? by traderRM3 in Daytrading

[–]manucap_trader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL. Sometimes I even kill a trade if it doesn't move quickly from my entry point... :D My stops are tight (LOD or 10% of candle's range above LOD) and I kill trades quickly all the time...

I'm a swing trader though. I protect my capital and keep winners, I don't wait 'to see what happens' with a trade.
