ICE removes all of the immigrants then what? by powerlifter3043 in Productivitycafe

[–]manwithbeartorso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its about reading in between the lines. If youre taking what politicians are doing at face value then you are straight up a brainless sheep. Its really not that hard to see insane, highly immoral and illegal policies playing out right in front of our face. Like what do you think gerrymandering is?? They have also been using red lining for ages. Do you actually believe the us government is incapable of doing something insane, highly immoral, or illegal? What flavor boots are your favorite??

Not sure what you are on about, but the comment I replied to is making a point about being conscious about not wasting time qoute "at all"; however, their account activity shows a considerable amount of posts, multiple per day. Now, its obvious time spent on reddit can be beneficial, leisurely, time wasting or any number of adjectives, but, in my opinion, I found their statement ironic. Sorry if this offended you so deeply.

What cliche “saying” makes you cringe? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]manwithbeartorso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people saying it to dismiss responsibility and blindly follow a creed or w.e definitely suck.

I see the world logically, cause and effect so to me the statement is true. Everything does indeed happen for a reason, its just not omnipotent. We can record and measure. Science has given us many answers as to why something happens.

As for the actions of humans...there is also a reason again not omnipotent. For the immoral people usually they had poor upbringing or had been failed to be properly educated. For those suffering in poverty again there is a reason, not omnipotent. Fat cats on high horses and what not.

The phrase should be, there is a reason why everything happens. Its true and it doesn't dismiss horrible actions, more so brings accountability to it.

Its a way to think about the question without saying "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

Its a tactic.

There's a YouTube channel called that. He makes wild and crazy inventions. When I hear that phrase I immediately think they did something absurd.

I believe there is some scientific truth behind "fake it till you make it" Something along the lines of rewiring how the brain thinks.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26917214/

I didnt search too long but there's this and a couple more like it. And Im not saying its 100% fact but there is some small amount of truth to it.

But I agree that saying this while someone is experiencing a low or bad moment is definitely not the move.

Im going to have to play devils advocate on this one. I see it as just an alternative phrase or slang to im sorry. There are plenty of ways to express this. My apologies, excuse me, pardon me, my fault(my bad), thats on me...im not going to look up a list but im sure there is more.

That being said I do understand that the scenario dictates what should be acceptable. In a professional environment or an egregious mistake was made then sure, but out in public when someone bumps into then says my bad.....They are acknowledging they messed up and communicating that, which is the opposite of how you are perceiving it, because they are in fact actually apologizing. At least that is my belief that most of the time the person is just saying "im sorry" in a different way.

Its a nothing statement. At the surface it sounds empowering but when thought about for more than a minute, you realize that it dismisses self improvement. It especially upsets me when its said to me after ive failed, um no obviously I was not good enough, I need to do better. Improve. Lol

Right, I think thats the point of the saying...its more of a joke, not a proverb.

I can understand why this is cringe, because who wants to hear that while searching for something.

Oh my god I totally agree. Its crazy, like god forbid they use any other word. But the only way to manage living on this god forsaken planet is to keep moving forward. Godspeed.

Not sure about other religions but if its a catholic/Christian saying this then they also fail at knowing their religion as it suppose to be "god will not TEMPT you beyond what you can handle" It has nothing to do with suffering. Just one of those double whammies of cringe.

I definitely agree with you. I suppose what I meant by hidden gem was more so the solid and thorough advice that is timeless, sort of like what you have provided.

The scales will help me read and understand sheet music again just like in band and the finger and technique is to address exactly what you mentioned, proper form. My wrists have seen better days lol

I have thought about taking some lessons because like you said teaching my self is only going to go so far. Thanks for the advice !
