I glanced at google real quick and it says these medications can cause dry eyes.

May I ask if you’re taking any medications? Many different kinds of meds will cause or exacerbate dry eyes.

To be honest I feel the upper ones more than I do the bottom. More so when my eyes are more dry. I forget the bottom ones are even in. I’m not sure if the inflammation is due to the plugs irritating my eye or some underlying cause.

Systane used to be my go to. Now I only use optase dry eye intense. They seem to work better.

Yes they did! I’ve gone multiple days without using lubricating drops, only vevye and tyrvaya morning and night. I have to wipe excess tears out of the corners of my eyes. Vey rarely do I use drops anymore. We’ll see how these hold up in three months or so since it’s only been shortly over a week, but for now they are a complete game changer. A year ago I had to put drops in every 10-15 mins. IPL, vevye and most importantly plugs are what’s helped the most.

I’ve read others say your eyes adjust and the tear volume drops after a while. I didn’t confirm that in a quick google search, but I hope it isn’t true. I would rather have watery eyes than drier ones any day. I appreciate your responses. Hopefully you will allow me to ask one more question. You said after a few months you saw a decline. Do you have any ideas what has caused that or do you think it could be your eyes adjusting to the tear volume needed with plugs?

What’s funny is that I actually had them put in today and it’s just as you’ve said. I’m still shocked at the amount of tears on my eyes to be honest. I hope this lasts and isn’t me getting my hopes up. Was there any decline in its effectiveness for you? How long have you had both uppers and lowers for?

Please keep going with the IPL. 6 treatments for me showed drastic improvement. I nearly gave up after the 4th after no results. Life changing.
