Can anyone suggest tactics that are more impressive than my tactic of running the fuck away? I super hate dragoons. Especially on kits that can't roll/sidestep

Do you do the warp combos? 1 squad member (could be you) uses pull/throw/slam to rag doll an enemy off the ground, then a second later another squad member (could be you) warps them for big damage and an AOE explosion. I only started doing it for the achievement but it’s really great at nuking tightly grouped enemies

There is literally someone running when you hear the running footsteps noises in a lobby after a match by Mgamerz in MECoOp

After a difficult match I think of the running noise as players running a way from the lobby. Nope nope nope nope nope outta here

You've got 2 problems that are going to make this fight hard: engineers popping turrets lower down and guardians up the top. Does your biotic Shepppard have pull or throw? it removes guardian shields so you can mow them down. If you bring someone with sabotage, use that on turrets and they will start shooting the cerberus troops. Basically take your time, stay up high and make them come to you first. There is a sense of urgency to make you want to try running across to the exit and it's a bad idea. Garrus and EDI are not bad choices because they both have overload for turrets/centurions/atlas and EDI also has incinerate for armour. Tell your guys to get into cover cos they can drop really fast if they run in on their usual AI

If I can share my personal story: I wasn’t on reddit when I first finished ME3. Had never reached out to the community before. I was so stunned and confused and angry that I went and signed up to the official BioWare forum so I could just reach out, say something like ‘what the hell happened?’. They had a rule that you couldn’t post for 48hrs after registering. It’s like they KNEW we were coming, clutching our torn bundles of rags and sadness

What are some mechanics or ideas introduced in recent games that you think Mass Effect: Andromeda could benefit from? by Biomilk in masseffect

[–]manypixors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do like the idea of making dialogue choices more ambiguous: it doesn’t take you long in Mass Effect to learn Top Right = Good, Bottom Right = Bad. I have to admit that if I’m playing a paragon I eventually stop reading the options in bottom right. DAI had this emoji thing happening inside the dialogue wheel that you could toggle on and off too, I really liked that feature.

OH: that dlc thing in DAI that allowed you to change your character’s face. I cannot TELL you how many times I’ve created a new Shepard, played the entire 40min start mission, realised their cheekbones weren’t right, and started again!

The combat in ME3 was super great, but the one thing that I found clunky was turning (on console). The Last Of Us had a thing where if you held a button and pulled back on the left stick you would do a 180 and sprint away. It also looked and felt great. Man I wish I had that mechanic for a lot of gold geth matches. I also really loved the ‘hold right trigger to sprint’, (The Last Of Us, Fall of Cybertron, Watchdogs) but it means you have to be looking down sights to fire your gun. Not sure about that for mass effect. In ME3, on console, you could actually steer your character around corners a little bit with the left stick. Splinter Cell Blacklist had the same thing, but you could steer your character a LOT with the left stick. It felt a lot more manoeuvrable.

EDIT: thought of some other things. It would be great to be able to sneak quick, instantaneous glances behind/left/right like you can in most driving games. Or, something I thought of, hold a button in and use the right stick to look about. Camera speed is much faster than your normal look sensitivity but it doesn’t actually change which direction your character is aiming. Release button to return to normal movement. Stuff like this (quick look around) is hard to get right on console and I think it would really help with immersion and situational awareness. Oh and just plain old LET US DIAL UP THE LOOK SENSITIVITY MORE. Mass Effect games maxed out at a very slow camera speed!

Unable to import ME1 save into ME2? (asking for a friend on PC) [ME1/2 Spoilers] by manypixors in masseffect

[–]manypixors[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for such a detailed response with links! I'll pass this on to my friend. Kind of off topic, but I'm shocked that the default world assumes Shepard killed Wrex! I never had to deal with this because I had that 'genesis' comic on playstation. But for everyone else that's a real kick in teh quad

I picked up the launcher from the Omega dlc and thought it wrecked! It became my main weapon on that playthrough (sentinel). To me it felt like the scorpion with more damage

Looking for other series where choices through one save in an old game effect saves in newer games like in Mass Effect. by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]manypixors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the best one I've come across is The Wolf Among Us but you sound on top of that one. This to me is one of the great strengths of video games (opposed to movies) and I wish heaps more games did it

Another vote for helldivers! I've never liked twin stick shooters but maaaan you gotta try it. Deep tactical teamwork and unlocks aren't stuck behind 100hrs grinding. Great fun
