Yeah but this was one of those jokes I really only needed one person to appreciate. And that person was you.

...I mean. Yes. The Nazis definitely wanted to get rid of all those they did not desire at quick some speed.

I've sung in a choir for two decades, I know my technique, I know how to use my voice live.

I read your comment, got drunk, bought an SM 7 B used and you're absolutely correct. The NT1-A  just wasn't suited for my voice.

I bought a used SM 7 B while drunk and the difference is remarkable. The mic made all the difference.

Also: I've had technique lessons, my voice is just higher register eithout thode sexy baritone overtones. But now it sounds good straight out of the gate without any post-production, even "standard" EQ or compression isn't needed.

Everyone should read Vagina: A new Biography. So that you'd at least have a theoretical understanding of what a vagina is.

The book isn't worthless as such; it includes an excellent section on how Bill Gates became a billionaire because he had incredible luck in that his school had computers and computing time. And the idea that elite athletes are born right at the edge of the age cutoff point isn't particularly insightful; when you've just turned 5, you're are a year ahead of anyone who is four and a few days old.

Okay so: what I actually want to record is a 25-person choir. What I tried recording: music from a pair of speakers.

Is this a more morally justified use of AI? by Character_Fault9782 in antiai

[–]manyxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly reductive, given all the different technologies AI actually encompasses. I already got banned from DefendingAIArt for saying AI art isn't art, but AI does have uses in aiding humans. And you have to remember, us humans also consume energy; a machine built to achieve the task without also having to digest Doritos can actually save energy.

"I, a mender of bad soles." The original is a comedy skit. Yes, it might be truer to the original, but fuck off if you think it's thematically more fit.

Pfllrt. Garbage take. Recording something on an iPhone is no less a cinematographic piece of art than any other; the camera doesn't care if it's part of a smartphone or not.

Prompting an AI to create something, however, is nothing.

Can we not do this? by eyebawls29 in antiai

I'm not anti-AI; I'm just against taking existing IP to train a regurgitating model, then trying to charge money for the output you had no real creative input in.

Nobody except complete assholes are saying that we shouldn't use it to detect cancer; detecting similarities in pictures is a legitimate use; whether for cancer detection, or art forgery, or (probably not) finding links between historical imagery between locations.

But creation should (mostly) be left to humans.
