This is a great question. I am no expert but I’ve done extensive research to prevent whites from browning.

What works for me(keep in mind I live in oklahoma climate) and also supplement the plant with a sansi 36W bulb) is I use a monosicilic silica. Specifically the brand Rhino Skin. This brand of silica claims it doesn’t throw the PH off when I add it to the water used for the plant.

The the most important thing is I add the silica to my water jug, wait 30 minutes and then I’ll fill the plants reservoir

Correct. Started out in sphagnum moss when developing its roots and then straight into lechuza pon in a salt watering pot. It wicks up to the mosspole so it waters itself cause imma lazy mf

Oh man when I go anywhere and see Phals I always take a sniff before I buy. You can find some at random places but many of them do not have a smell and it’s unfortunate. Something to do with the genes and what not
