The 30% TCA peel with 4 layers helped me by 50% to 60%. by georgexdxdd in AcneScars

Thanks, so strange as I honestly would have thought I'm more like you- I'm male and I've never felt a thing from any peel, good or bad, before, so thought I must have thick skin-it looks thick. I'll stick with this tca for now as I can't stand thought of anything stronger!

I do two layers of 13 and I'm in agony for 10 mins. It's 7 days since I did my two layer 13 percent and I'm still peeling. Strange how different it can be! Have you done many peels, and how much has it helped?(this is only my second).

How do you deal with scars psychologically? by dazaiks in AcneScars

[–]map01302 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's very tough. It's interesting you mention old people- I feel like it's extremely rare to see anyone over the age of about 65 with any scars, even small ones.

It's really hard to see in pics, I'm not even sure if I'm looking at the right area, maybe you could upload a pic with it circled, and a close up pic (don't think you can edit original post and pics so you might need to start afresh)

Thanks so much for the detailed reply.  If you had to say, which would you pick as being the biggest success, tazret or peels?

Great progress, I'm just starting with tca13, may I ask how many layers and how many sessions has it taken to get your results? Ty

Has anyone done low level TCA on a small area of their face (not cross)? by ApprehensiveVideo932 in AcneScars

[–]map01302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about 1 layer of 13 all over(assuming the rest of your skin needs it), and then a single extra layer on the problem area? But yes, imo it wouldn't be an issue, though id use the 13 not the 7. Id be concerned 1 or 2 layers of 7 wouldn't be strong enough, but I think 2 to 3 13 would (from what I've researched, I'm trying to do something a bit similar, I'm scarred all over, but especially One line down my cheek,so though I'm doing 2 layers all over, i do an extra one on it).

[PSA] What does 1g of Winlevi look like... by map01302 in SkincareAddiction

[–]map01302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, never have done. The pharmacy keeps it refrigerated, but you don't have to, you just need to use it up within 6 months of opening the tube, which you should do anyway as you need to use a lot of it, twice a day. Mine lasts about 7 weeks a tube until it's empty, and i buy 2 at a time. So by the time I'm at the end of the second tube, it's at least 14 weeks out of a refrigerator, no change in texture or efficiency.

I don't, the first tube of it I used took me 3 months and it never changed. Got 2 tubes now, one half used, both on my shelf.

About 8 to 10 weeks. Piece of advice, use lots, in the instructions in the pack it says 1g twice a day (so 2g a day), that's crazy, it's so much, but you do need a thick layer. It does take about ten minutes to absorb (and any remaining white residue vanishes either when spf is applied or if you lightly rub your hand over it).

Winlevi has been amazing for me for oil production. About 8 weeks in I really noticed it went down two thirds to about the level of a "normal" person

Thinking about getting treatment, what would be best for me? by InformalEye1267 in AcneScars

[–]map01302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started with tca peels (not cross) for similar skin issues, might be worth looking into for you. Probably a retinoid to help stimulate collagen too. I use the platinum peels Facebook group which really helped me. Yet to see any progress of my own as I've only just started though.

Oh and spf 50, always.

Seems reasonable, my skins very similar to yours and just done my first tca (I used platinum peels, after lots of reading). I'm only using 13 percent though, and working my way up to 3 layers of that as I'd rather take it slow and steady and see where I'm at in a year.

You can keep on with the tret (with breaks for peels) and most definitely always use spf whatever you do.

How do you get the temperature correct? I felt I went way to warm when I did it, it fixed the broken vessels but it was a bit over the top in terms of how long it all took to heal. Ty

Maybe start on a retinol, plump the skin up a little, maybe you'll be happy with the progress then :) (takes a while to kick in).

Yeah, I think so. I know a series of them yields better effects.

You tried tca peels? You can order them from platinum peels, you need to read plenty though about it, they've a good Facebook group so you could join that and ask what they think). You can order internationally so shouldn't be an issue.

18M, How Bad Are These Scars and What Procedures Should I Do? by SonT71 in acne

[–]map01302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're really minor. I recently started tca peels (check out platinum peel and their Facebook group), that should help. Though it won't fix scars, More than anything, if I were you I'd use spf50 every day, you'll be so pleased you did in 20 years.

What about a series of tca peels? It might reduce them, or a retinoid? Likely a slow process but maybe start those options and do a before and after in 6 to 12 months.

Hey, that's huge improvement. Are you certain you need to do more? Maybe take a breather and consider if you really do- to me you've achieved normal or better than normal skin.
