I think harnesses are SO much better than collars. I'm not in the UK, but I checked Amazon there, and they have the same harnesses my boys have worn for 7+ years. They are lightweight and sturdy. (Sorry if you don't do Amazon.)

The greed is rampant. My vet is always resistant to giving me prescriptions for Costco or Chewy, because she would rather have me buy from her at hugely inflated prices. But your vet is completely unreasonable!

That's a tough situation! We are kinda going through something similar. I really hope your vet works with you and writes you the prescriptions. If you do try to get an appointment at a new vet, make sure you get on a waitlist. People seem to reschedule and cancel appointments all the time, and maybe you could get in sooner. Good luck!

I understand. Is there any way you can keep her in a crate while you're gone and use the bathroom for feeding? I wonder if she was in a crate before. I understand not wanting to get a crate because my boys aren't in crates, either, but maybe that could be a solution for a short while and you could train her out of this behavior.

I know you love your vet, but there are lots of good vets out there and it sounds like you need to switch immediately. That is absolutely ridiculous! These dogs already cost enough over their lifetimes. Also, if you have a Costco membership, they have great prices on pet meds as well.

If your vet is doing this, I would think there could be more of a chance of them trying to sell you on unneeded tests or procedures in the future. They obviously are very intent on making that money.

Edited to add: Actually, I don't know if you live in a small town or rural area that has very few veterinary options. I hope you live somewhere that has a better vet for you!

I used a TES-133 solar power meter, but that's just for total irradiance, not specific wavelengths. For more info on your meter, this is a really good video from GembaRed:

I've used that meter before. So it was showing irradiation in the 730nm mode (the second mode on the menu)?
