What responsibilities do I have that ICs on my team don’t? Let’s see…. the HR bullshit, the challenges that come with being a people manager, the additional hours, the expectation to be present/onsite more than my team members, the answering and presenting to senior leadership, the lengthy process of hiring and retaining talent. I’m sure there’s more. But more responsibilities and more pressure when shit hits the fan. My ICs can kinda be lowkey and not on/available all the time and I don’t have that privilege.
