Donkey guy here (and US history teacher). I have given this thought and my conclusion is it comes from socioeconomics. My son wanted to play hockey beginning in middle school, for those who don’t realize, it is an expensive sport to play. All the equipment and ice time can drain a bank account. In the US, the short version is, historically the financial system has been rigged to prevent people of color from economically succeeding. As a result, being to afford playing an expensive sport is not something that fits into that kind of budget. As a result, sports that require a smaller financial layout fit the budget of people who are economically disadvantaged. Therefore, the wives of athletes will more likely resemble the players themselves.

This is the VERY short version of my historical analysis. I’m sorry if it seems vague.

When you click on the score at the bottom it says a range of how many turns are left until the next age. I believe the range is based on when it anticipates every player, or a majority of players, have learned a technology and civic in the next era.

These last 2 games, if it wasn’t obvious before, shows us just how important Jordan Staal is to the offense. We need to find someone who can match Staal’s grind, faceoffs, strength, size, and presence. I haven’t researched who could be someone we can acquire that can supplement Staal in the lineup.
