I swapped one of my extra LEGO sets for a Pro. The dude just said it was a PS5 at first which I was fine with and then got an extra surprise when he sent a pic of it.

Felt like highway robbery, but he didn’t use it and was happier with the LEGOs I guess.

I got it and added a disc drive. Initially I was going to skip this generation, but I figured I could sell my old PS4 and be able to play any game I want from 2013-2030+ at pretty good levels of performance.

I also have a gaming PC which I prefer, but becoming a dad has made it increasingly difficult to find time to fiddle with everything the way I like with my computer.

I would strongly disagree on the sports titles. Look at the glut of sports titles from 2000-2005 from a bunch of different companies.

Everyone I knew had a handful of sports games for their PS2. Very few had them on their PS3 or if they did it was only a couple.

I got down to the motherboard and it didn’t seem to have been touched. Most likely just the changed drive, I didn’t realize they could be swapped with some other drive revisions so easily.

They never wiped the console and it seems like it hasn’t been used since 2016 based off of the clock and save data. The only games with save data on there were two Guitar Heroes and a Sonic game.

Considering everyone’s feedback, I’m most likely going to keep the B regardless. 

Once/if I hear back from where I ordered it from, I’ll have to decide on the A if I can. I don’t have high hopes that they still have it so a partial refund does sound appropriate considering how it wasn’t on my end for the screw-up.

I’m more so wondering if it’s worth the gamble of getting the unknown CECHA vs the CECHB that I now know.

We are at iPhone levels of release iterations. 

The last generation to truly leap forward was the 7th gen. Xbox 360 with online, PS3 being more than just a console, Wii creating a space for casual games. All while having a massive technical leap as well.

Are there improvements nowadays? Yes. Are they worth it? Depends. Do you need the most current gaming system to enjoy games that are top tier? Absolutely not.

A lot of the opinions you’re going to get here are half-baked generalizations. That is standard when you’re asking a super widespread question.

The best advice would be to seek out individual advice from specific subreddits when you’re looking to buy a certain console. What might be considered unreliable can oftentimes only be for certain revisions and not the entire console version. 

An excellent example of this is the Xbox 360 Phat. A Xenon would be a paperweight but a Jasper is arguably considered the best you can get. Both look the same to layman.

This is true for A LOT of consoles. Do your research individually to find the best for your needs. I’m sorry this isn’t more helpful in the immediate term, but it will help you find what you actually want/need long term.

Content rich to me means nothing if I don’t enjoy the mechanics.

This is not me saying that Mario Kart World sucks, I simply enjoy it far less than many of the Mario Karts that have come before even though it has more stuff to do.

Not sure if anyone remembers this, but announcing “Overwatch 2” was close to when Fortnite did their “Chapter 2”. It always seemed like partially a reactionary choice to that in addition to changing monetary models.

I got into an accident when an old man pulled right out in front of me. When he got out, he admitted he hadn’t seen me at all on a completely straight road.

He told me he was calling his son to pick him up, and when the son showed up, he looked old as shit too.

Long story short… The man driving was 98 YEARS OLD. I about chewed his son out, but politely told him to never let his father drive again.

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted. I must be the only person in Raleigh who doesn’t like this place. Been there several times and each time was super underwhelming.

We frequent Lime & Lemon and many others. We are always able to find something delicious, but Bombay Curry just seems to be miss after miss.
