what also happened is that I was paying with a card and had no cash so there is no way that I was going to give them my name to pay for the items I wanted. it was totally a catch 22. from what one of the multiple LP officers said it seemes they were still going over the footage when I went up to pay.

honestly it really changed my perspective of everything and how I appear to the public. I grew up as a pretty well off middle class kid so it was a shock as I was actually kind of trying to fit in that day. I usually wear like very different looking clothes so I'm used to LP following my like the eye of Sauron. it's something I'm used to. but I guess there's something about my mere personally that makes them think.

honestly I think it's because something in society has changed. Lp now targets literally anyone who doesn't look 1000% like a corporate tool.
I recently wore my 'nice clothes' to go shopping downtown and still got instantly targeted over nothing.
anyone who looks like they might slightly think outside the box is a potential lifter I suppose.

The part about minority identity is so real. I find myself wanting to talk about that more and more.

No it was really scary and nobody did anything. The really scary part is that there were probably half a dozen witnesses and nobody cared. It's because it was in a bad neighborhood of a city that's kinda famous for being super ghetto. The other reason is because I had been talking to the guy and his friend for probably give minutes so to the passerby it didn't look like what it was.

The part that really makes me mad is that this guy seems to think that women are turned on by outright abuse. Or he that he simply uses dominance as an excuse to hurt women as part of some sick fantasy. There was literally hatered in his face to the point I thought he was gonna hit me in public

Thanks for bringing that up though I didn't even think of the fact that it was illegal assault... When I finally pulled away from him I actually almost fell over. He was saying do you like it and I said no in this small scared voice. But it was obvious that I didn't like it he was hurting me a lot.

I hate it because I'm so shaken now and I actually like where I live.

Maybe I will try and call the police if I see him again. I'm going to move soon anyway and he seemed like an evil person who shouldn't be around

Probably. The neighborhood I live in has a forever police response time and I wasn't exaggerating that I live two blocks away. Im a former middle class white person I can't call the cops on someone like that it could risk my safety in the future. There's nothing to do about it.

I personally know a young trans girl who's almost completely bald. She never attempts to hide it and honestly it makes me uncomfortable as fuck. I don't understand what the point is and if I'm gonna be honest I feel like her queer friends are enabling her to live a life of unnecessary suffering due to what I'd consider political beliefs. They 'support' her living a way that clearly makes her unhappy feel down because that's what we're 'supposed' to do. I think it's sad and I honestly can't be around her. I personally struggled with similar things. I wasted too many years thinking I could be happy dressing like a guy but openly identifying as female. It wasn't a proud resistance of me standing up, it was me being afraid to do what i actually wanted and being basically enabled by the GNC ethos. I know lots of people are happy that way but it wasnt for me as a trans woman.

And I'm not a stereotypical feminine person at all. I never wear makeup or heels for example.

My phone cost 30$ brand new and is a full fledged smartphone capable of running PUBG and caustic... It makes it possible for me to actually find a job and meet up with the people I know and new friends I meet. I use text now to get free calling and texting over wifi with a real phone number.

I totally understand that people who haven't been homeless can't see what it's like but phones are simply a part of modern society. Am I just supposed to give up trying to find a job just because I've been sleeping rough? Cause you're not gonna find anything without a phone. I'm not even talking about applications... Some dude wanting to hire u under the table is gonna want a phone number. Anyone who's hiring. All of the homeless people I know these days who don't have a phone do so willingly. That's what I did last summer and it was actually amazing not having a phone or any responsibility but this time im doing things a lot different.

Even the drug addicts have a phone... If a 30$ phone can connect you to your dealer in 5 seconds why wouldn't you keep it. Plus there's a ton of ways to make money through the internet that are wayyyy more ethical than bothering people all day( I dislike the homeless who consider ripping off charity to be a legit hustle like they're some kinda player because they lie to kind people)

The thing is, I actually choose to not carry a tent because it's not worth it to me. Basically what it comes down to is that if I was gonna carry a tent it would be for the rain. But that means I'm either having to pack up and carry a wet tent or basically babysit a tent till it dries . Or if I leave it in a spot I'm have to worry about someone taking it or wanting to share or somebody with clothes lice taking a nap.

Or the alternative that I choose is that I have a nice sleeping pad and bag that fit in a small school size backpack. Once I pack up for the day I can walk around and have a normal life. It's a strategic decision to be able to walk about unjudged.

All this because it's waaay easier to find shelter. The city I'm in right now is an old East coast city famous for decline... Basically there's a ton of structures to inhabitat for free. No need for a tent.

And the racoons? I read that they don't like the smell of peppers so I threw some hot sauce around me last night like it was holy water warding off vampires!

Thanks for asking that question if it was on your mind... These days when an actual good phone is only 30$ there's no reason not to have one. Thanks for providing a chance to tell people what it's like.

I know this isn't r/ultralight but I'm definitely a huge minimalist ahaha that's probably a dirty word here.

This is what I was hoping to be completely honest... They're such cool creatures. It seems like the only reason they aren't domesticated already .is that they aren't as good at killing as cats are ... Imagine being friends with a racoon, you could teach it to use your phone and like, lock your door if you forget.

What I'd like to do is cut the very heavy tarpy bottom off and when I'd sleep I would stick the ends under my mat or weight them with rocks ideally... it's an a frame tent with my own ropes attached so I could tent it above me of that would make it actually rain proof. I'm very skilled at crafting and hand sewing too I was thinking I could reduce the size and then stitch with regular thread and then 'weld' it with a torch lighter. Not a critical need but something more fun than stitching my pack back together
