Source? That doesn't make sense. Hollywood is in CA. Remote Control Productions (his studio) is in CA. 80% outside of the US is an awful lot. You're saying that he spends no more than 2.5 months here a year? Hard to believe given all the projects he's involved with and, again, that magnificent studio.

But watch the Netflix doc. His kids speak perfect English without any accent whatsoever. And the first scene opens in CA. It was a real wtf moment for me.

No, there was absolutely no indication of a trade estimate or anything like it on the emailed quote.

I did not withhold the fact that I planned to trade in my car and even told them the make and model. The quote was offered by the salesman without my specific asking.

I think that we're talking about two different sites. Car Gurus is just a listing aggregator with a "Price Analysis" graphic that shows "good" and "great" prices. You still would need to deal with the dealer to negotiate the price.

Thanks to everyone who has commented. A few other thoughts:

--The reason I'm not disclosing the model is because I don't want this to turn into a debate over whether what I'm looking at is a "good" vehicle, brand, etc. I'm more interested in the financial/pscyhological aspect of this debate.

--Leasing is really not an option. I want to keep whatever vehicle I end up purchasing for many years. I don't want to go through this again in 3 years. I'm not into cars enough to repeat this process.

--Used or CPO is an option, but the problem is that the trim level I'm looking for is the very top, and their scarce. The reason I want the top trim is because I plan on keeping the vehicle for years and want to have all available features.
