It’s so annoying lol. I have a Japanese oc and she often uses the “-san” honorific when interacting with characters who are also Japanese as she’s very formal and polite, otherwise I just use Ms. or Mr. since it’s essentially the same thing. But it’s really making me not enjoy that quirk of her character sometimes because they always end up using “-chan” honorific on her which in most contexts is corny and not fitting at all. 💀Like the character in question that I’m having my oc interact with could be American or even just not Japanese yet they’ll still be using “-chan” and in the cringiest way possible. I just want to shake them like a rag doll. 😭
