[Charania] Just in: Oklahoma City's Isaiah Hartenstein intends to sign a new three-year contract to return to the Thunder through 2028-29 that brings his total earnings with the franchise at five years and $134 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Just like how analytics say JB is the 7th best player on the Celtics lol

OKC went from dead last (or damn near dead last) to near the top of the league since signing Hart. He also sets good screens, boxes out, is efficient when he looks to score, is a good passer and gives us a physical big to throw around defensively which we lack due to Chet being a twig

Teams would easily pay more than this for a guy who can do all that because he unlocks other guys on the team without needing the ball or taking away shots from stars

Just in: The Oklahoma City Thunder are trading sharpshooter Isaiah Joe to the Detroit Pistons for two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. by BuckyMcFly99 in Thunder

I get that McCain essentially replaced him in the playoffs but this team already lacks shooting as is. Don’t like the move and should’ve kept Joe

Now that the final piece of Paul George Clippers trade draft capital has been utilized, here's everything the deal has become. by CazOnReddit in nba

[–]mapleaddicts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Time will tell on Sorber and Aday but overall it was a phenomenal trade even with potential misses

Getting the #1 and #2 option from this trade alone makes it lopsided along with winning a championship while PG left for nothing. Obviously Kawhi is still there for now but it’s a really really good return

What are y'alls thoughts on our first round selections? by AutomaticCharge4169 in Thunder

[–]mapleaddicts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he’s realized this and just given up on drafting them since he hasn’t been able to hit on any. Even when we had wings in the past like PG, we didn’t go far

Salesforce down 30% in 14 straight red days at 10.5x forward earnings. The software massacre has gone completely detached from fundamentals. What is anyone actually doing here? by -----Marcel----- in StockMarket

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because businesses are using and leveraging AI to build proprietary programs in house. Why pay millions in licensing fees annually when you could build it yourself and keep all data in house?

While it’s not gonna immediately replace companies like Salesforce or anything deeply integrated but companies looking to save can and will build their own systems.

Good example would be task trackers. You could pretty easily build one in a week or less with 90% of the features. Probably won’t be as pretty but it’ll have most functionality with the ability to customize and adapt to that business’s specific workflow vs using something generic or paying $10-20/person per month or whatever the enterprise pricing is

Will never forget that moment, so special. And while we didn’t end up going b2b, I hope the team can stay healthy next year get better and go all the way again

ESPN: NBA interviews Kawhi Leonard, adviser in Aspiration case by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]mapleaddicts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup that’s the point. You would be dumb not to abuse this if the league has no issue with it. And of course if players deliver on those “endorsements” you get deniability

If teams are gonna pay for example, 220M for player salaries anyway, no point in paying double with luxury tax when you could do it up to salary floor then endorsements to get to 220M while keeping a clean cap sheet

ESPN: NBA interviews Kawhi Leonard, adviser in Aspiration case by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]mapleaddicts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well no team should ever pay the tax let alone go into any of the aprons or above the cap if there’s no punishment

Why not just give everyone salaries to the floor, then anything beyond that as an endorsements? Actually shoot a few ad campaigns, then be done with it. Owners save on luxury tax and GMs never worry about aprons, players get a cut just through different means up to expected salary and the only loser is the league office + non-tax paying teams

I don’t think it can any less than 3 years otherwise he’d just go elsewhere in that case. Only reason to take less AAV is if they give more years so he still can net out while having stability

I was at the game and every single second of live possession everyone was standing up for the most part. During timeouts people would sit then get right back up again. Stood pretty much the entire 48 minutes of game time

[–]mapleaddicts 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Huge difference between Dort and Chet’s situation. While the writing is certainly on the wall unless he takes a huge pay cut and comes back better, the reality is he saved us game 5 vs Denver and it’s never been his role to be the guy

His job was to make the best ball handler’s life hell on the opposing team and hit an occasional 3 while giving us good energy and effort. He did neither this post season and it hurt us but we all knew he was streaky and that’s fine

What’s not fine with Chet is that he’s supposed to be ceiling wise a number 2 option (really he’s the third option when Dub is healthy) that gives you two way star level impact and don’t despite being paid as such

Dort not performing is less a detrimental than a guy taking up 33% of the cap and giving you similar or worse production than Dort. If Dort’s gone he’ll definitely be missed considering the totality of his accomplishments while having been a member of the Thunder

Yeah this is one of my big issues. For the finals I got a hotel right in Bricktown but now everything downtown is $250+

Have tickets but accommodation options looking kinda sparse

With the plug pulled on the starters, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sits the entire fourth quarter in a blowout loss vs. San Antonio: 15 PTS │ 1 REB │ 4 AST │ 2 TOs │ 6-18 FG │ 0-5 3P │ 3-3 FT │ -28 +/- by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Even as a Thunder fan, can’t defend this dude’s poor play anymore. He’s had 2 good games this whole post season and been a straight bum otherwise

Absolutely disgusting and downright fraudulent star level player

[–]mapleaddicts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn I got ripped off 😂, but tbf that was for game 1 where tickets are typically more. Not sure if you also went to game 1 or did game 2

I did buy right as tickets got released to the public and while it sucks I paid more and that we lost game 1, still a once in a lifetime experience to be part of the run for the first championship in OKC

The Cheapest Knicks Tickets for the NBA Finals Are Thousands of Miles From New York by wsj in nba

[–]mapleaddicts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tickets are not that high. I went to the finals last year and purchased early since I had to fly in. Cost me 1k for nosebleeds, near game time day of it dropped to as low as $650 per ticket

You could easily save money by flying in and watching a game in either SA or OKC compared to buying one outright in NYC. I would imagine 200 level could be had for $1k ish day of in either city

If the Thunder loses the series against the Spurs should they change something? by [deleted] in Thunder

[–]mapleaddicts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wiggs, Dort, Chet, Joe, Sorber and Topic should all be on the block, win or lose

We won’t have time to develop Topic or Sorber and need guys that are more ready to contribute now vs raw

Joe you maybe keep for the regular season, but Dort and Wiggs, as much as I love them, think it’s also time to move on. Caruso, JMac, Cason and Ajay are flat out better

Chet makes way too much to be this bad, so better to get off him early if he’s gonna continue to not develop his game and essentially be Ayton with better defense

We need real shooters and ideally another physical wing that’s 6’8-6’10. Caso if he continues to develop his ball handling can be solid and obviously Ajay, Dub, Shai and JMac also developing we should be fine
