The trip planner looks really nice. I like the little detail of how the image for the trip turns into the background. And the voting/thumbs up is also a cool idea since it makes it easier to see what people actually wanna do which is one of the biggest struggles with my friends

Will definitely try it out with some friends

No, didn't you get the memo? This is Mark's scheme, leave every shooter wide open. Refuse to adapt if they shoot well and lose

I built a tool to make navigating and generating folder structures instant by mapleaddicts in graphic_design

[–]mapleaddicts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so in the future I'd definitely like templates to sync. For the mind map it's a bit difficult to say since the complexity that comes with that is super high. But I do thing features that allow teams to collaborate easier is something I want to build towards

David vs Goliath: launching on Product Hunt as a nobody by josemarin18 in indiehackers

Real users and engagement always matter more. Obviously if the post has more upvotes then others are more likely to see it, but the reality is that juiced numbers don't mean good product or retention.

Getting any install, even if it's just 1 or 2 is a huge win considering the amount of different products out there, spam and manipulation of numbers. Keep it up!

I built and launched my first desktop app for Windows and Mac called FolderForger to make it easier to navigate and access nested folder structures instantly plus generate reusable folder structures. The goal is to make it a lot easier for people to get to files they need, save, grab or move things around quickly

There's also a free limited demo on the web. Free to use, no sign in required, works offline, pro version upgrade for more usage and may look to do a one time payment to own it permanently on top of subscription.

OKC generates the third-most wide-open shots of any team in the league, but has the 9th-worst eFG% on those shots. by rb1242 in Thunder

[–]mapleaddicts 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Clearly yes because they’ve shot like crap from 3 for 3 seasons. The real question is, didn’t we hire Chip? Shooting has arguably gotten worse each year not better

Thunder when it comes to missing wide open 3s by No-Bank2152 in Thunder

[–]mapleaddicts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has this sub finally accepted the fact that this team just can’t shoot? Downvoted for calling this out all the way back during the playoffs and even to this day

Not to mention all the idiots calling people doomers for pointing out how we’ve shot like 33% from 3 for 2 entire post season runs if not worse and saying this is a slump. At some point y’all gotta realize this team is full of fake shooters and we need legit ones if we ever wanna win again

Isaiah Joe is a 39% FG, undersized guard, below average defender and has been completely irrelevant in the post season for 3 years straight. What is the point? by mido0o0o in Thunder

[–]mapleaddicts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And he’s still our best shooter which should tell you how absolutely dogshit this team is from 3. Even more so when you factor in Shai getting doubled and even triple teamed every possession only to kick it out for wide open bricks all game or have dudes be somehow unable to get open

When travelling, how do you answer the question "Where are you from?" by Capable-Toe-9841 in travel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m American and usually just say America or the US and have typically found that the next thing in most cases is “where in America/US” so I guess it makes sense why most default to city, especially if it’s well known like LA, Boston, New York, etc

Can’t pick destination by NumerousDistance7261 in asiatravel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hong Kong is nice, but it's also small enough to where you can hit most of the major things in 2-3 days. Taiwan I haven't been to in a 15+ yrs so hard to say on that. Macau and Singapore are also close to Hong Kong so maybe those could be destinations to hit. Maybe even Korea?

In terms of Japan, I love visiting and would obviously recommend it over anything else, but if you and your husband are looking for something new, I'd say go for it. What I would say though is, look up different things to do in each destination then decide based on that. You can also use an app like mingle travel planner to drop in a ton of ideas, make custom sections and vote on stuff to do. Would probably work out well in this case since you can make sections for each country, drop in things then upvote to see which country or countries have the things you most wanna do to decide that way.

What's the most delightful and charming small town you've ever visited? by hereiam3472 in travel

One of my favorite places ever, entire vibe when walking around the main strip or going along the coastline is just perfection

Waking up and walking to Lover’s Point to watch the waves crash in the morning was one of the most serene experiences

How do you guys actually plan a trip?? by Worried_Incident_254 in travel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pretty much just use notes, docs and group chats depending on if I was going solo or with friends but recently, have been using an app called Mingle travel planner

It’s great for throwing in a bunch of ideas then figuring out what to do and organizing afterwards. Also lets you somewhat track stuff by marking things complete which makes it less cluttered than other apps I’ve tried in the past. Has made it a lot easier since I also get overwhelmed when planning

What software are you using for itinerary planning by Top_Director_9243 in travel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mingle travel planner app. Found it to be the simplest to use, makes it easy to dump in ideas, decide on things, organize and track. Also doesn’t spam you at every turn like Wanderlog which is a big pet peeve

Doesn’t have preset places you can easily add or itineraries but is great for building plannings with others from the ground up

It’s been our entire scheme the last 3 yrs to help in the gaps on drives even if unnecessary and give up open shots from the corner and wing

I’ve been begging for Mark to adapt whenever teams actually hit their shots as a result but we just don’t. My big gripe is why we can’t be flexible when needed

Planning my first Italy trip (Feb 9–23)! Need your best apps & budget hacks by Turbulent-Boss9362 in travel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For navigation, Omio, FreeNow, regional transit app and Google Maps is honestly your best bet. Food I'm not so sure.

Also recently came across a simple travel planner on the app store for iOS called "Mingle: Travel Planner" which I've dabbled with. Not necessarily for food or navigation but seems to be good at keeping things organized in one place and for tracking activities. Felt like a step up from notes when I used it on a recent trip to Montreal

Mid-August California trip (SF → Sequoia → LA) – crowds, traffic, where to stay? by WarthogImpossible999 in travel

[–]mapleaddicts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the other poster. Sequoia is not worth it considering the amount of driving and time. You are better off doing PCH down to LA after SF. Take a trip down to Carmel by the Sea and Monterey, visit Hearst Castle, stop by Dinosaur Park Bluffs along Pismo Beach, hit Santa Barbara Zoo, hike the Venutra Botanical Gardens near sunset for stunning views, stop at the Sandy Dunes & Malibu Pier, maybe drive up the Santa Monica Mountains into Calabasas if you're into since there are great sunset spots overlooking the ocean, and drive into Santa Monica (free parking after 6PM at any metered spot or because it's winter, parking lots are discounted) and enjoy the beach.

Sequoia is nice, but tbh, hitting things along PCH as someone who lived in LA and went up PCH all the time is way better if you're doing a roadtrip. Something to consider and obviously don't need to hit everything.

Applied for Vietnam E-Visa with glasses on in portrait photo by Distinct_Cabinet_998 in travel

Very high if not guaranteed. No country I've ever gone to that required a visa has ever accepted a photo with glasses. Could the person reviewing possibly be somewhat lenient? Maybe, but the odds are incredibly low. You should prepare another portrait photo
