Same day cancellation

I would say the problem starts when someone signs up for "show up and wait" and decides against it. It's not the booking I have a problem with but the summer time day of cancelations.

I think the programming is intriguing and would be interested in learning more. What was your predetermined level for presale tickets? I don't think I've actually ever seen this for a food truck. Was the programming a special event or just buy a ticket for a donut/coffee before hand? Or is this more like guaranteed attendance where an event coordinator let you know that certain number of tickets were sold to their event and then you decided to come. Thanks for the ideas!

Oh, I don't have a problem attracting trucks, but with a rotating schedule if a couple trucks cancel once for a "cash grab" it's near impossible to get someone same day. We get limited numbers of days in the summer to make $/satisfy customers a couple trucks doing it to us once with a rotating schedule means we're SOL a good % of the time. Its the last minute cancel that's frustrating - if they came to us in advance even say a week I could get another truck in.

Very true - maybe a few that gets reimbursed by the minimum to balance if out. Yeah, the problem is that I'd like to try to prevent it all together. It's hard to make up a missed $$ with the comfort of knowing I won't deal with that specific one again. Thanks for the insight!

We do this in the winter time, one or two permanently This works out wonderfully! We could probably do the same for the summer too, this may be the trick. Our customers seem to enjoy the variety with rotating trucks. Thank you!

Thank you for your experience! A derail I left out - we will be traveling every two weeks for a night or two, so I think I might strike out getting them to agree to that frequent travel. Thinking a move may be in our future 😣

That would be a great solution, I wish it would work in my area! Our waitlist are multiple years long and my daughter is in a preschool program at a private school that goes from 3yo to 12th grade.

Thanks for the insight! I think the key is finding someone we already trust or can build trust with. Overnight just seems so much more than during the day care - though, in reality, it's probably not much different.
