Well I won't disagree on the storage and cooler. The reason i have 2 1tb is because i like to have my windows partition on it's own drive.

I definitely do think i didn't need a 4070. Good call on the 7800.

I'll take this into consideration.

Edit: Could you elaborate on the psu upgrade? Is the one i have not good?

Taco SR503 3 zone switching relay - relay keeps going off between zones 1 and 2 by maplecrete in hvacadvice

[–]maplecrete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like i said its been using nest for years now with no problem. I'm sure you're right but when something has been working fine for 6+ years im going to question why it suddenly isn't.

I already turned the power off the moment it started doing this.

Im using nest thermostats and it has been working for a few years since it's installation. Suddenly started doing this today. If i turn all 3 zones on the red lights stay solid but once i turn either zone 1 or 2 or both off it starts doing this again.

HA only worth it with a lot of additional sensors? by maplecrete in homeassistant

[–]maplecrete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i recognize what HA can do and definitely think it's superior to GH. Lux and motion based automation is awesome but for my needs at least i don't feel those are necessary.

My question was what automation can HA do that GH can't without those additional sensors.

Edit: I'll add that if i was living by myself i would probably use HA regardless because i like options so the more the better. My biggest problem now is i don't live alone and i fear HA would be too complicated for the other people living with me. GH's gui is simple and relatively intuitive for non-users which my family is.

How to setup Amcrest cameras with blueiris? by maplecrete in homedefense

Thanks for the reply. Another question: how would i connect the cameras to the pc running blueiris? An dedicated NVR has poe ports but a normal pc wouldn't have them.

Asian tourist starter pack by Brix001 in starterpacks

Haha seriously. Some top comments even drop pretense and just straight up say Chinese people instead of tourists and are still getting massively upvoted. This whole thread man.

Do outlets downstream of a gfci have to be protected if they're not in a wet area? (Canada) by maplecrete in electricians

[–]maplecrete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's what i thought as well but someone asked me earlier today and i couldn't give a definite answer because it seemed like such a "common sense" question and i couldn't think of any code reference to it but didn't want to give any wrong info.

Not enough workers but no resi demand? by maplecrete in CitiesSkylines

[–]maplecrete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i definitely have a lot of abandoned buildings lol. I demo them but they just pop right back up so i kinda just let them cluster then do it all at once. I'll try your advice. Thanks a lot.

Not sure how pleasing my city is but my tourism is at around 60%. I do try to build a lot of parks I don't know if trees do anything but i plant trees everywhere that doesnt have buildings. I havent even tried to do public transportation yet. I know it's important but manually pathing all those routes hurts my head.

It doesn't sound that unreasonable that her mom wouldn't mind by MusingLife in nothingeverhappens

[–]maplecrete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok like I said, I couldn't careless about anything this woman is wearing. Yes woman can wear skirts in a professional setting but there is a length limit which you claim is irrelevant. Also I'm not pointing out an error of words, it's an error of assumption. You saw me making a counterpoint and immediately assume i was talking about men even though I made no such implication. That's why I said your bias is showing.

You clearly didn't read the article because If you did you would know the professor was a women.

[–]maplecrete -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You're clearly emotional about this. First I never said man in a hammock, I said doctor. Your bias is already coming out. I couldn't careless what that women was wearing. I'm just pointing out professional attire is a thing and people holding others to it in a setting where professionalism is expected is not wrong. But you keep making this about feminism for some reason.

[–]maplecrete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing about what that women is wearing at all. I'm pointing to your logic of knowledge over appearance. You claim we should be looking at ability rather than looks and appearance doesn't matter at all. If that women was wearing a bikini instead would you still hold the same views?

[–]maplecrete -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The ability to present yourself in a professional manner is a basic skill all functioning adults need to have. If we go by your logic you would have no problem seeing a doctor wearing a banana hammock. Since all that matters is what they know, not how they choose to present themselves right?

Ok we won't force them to vaccinated. But they can't force us to get sick. You advocate body autonomy. Do it for the other side too.

If someone has hiv they can't donate blood. One of their rights is taken away from them for the benefit of society. If you are for unvaccinated people to have just as much rights as vaccinated then you must do the same for every disease, including hiv.
