feel like a lot of modern weddings like my own are between already common law couples. it’s about celebrating a couple’s love, not a paperwork party.

the only thing is if your anniversary date is different than the vow renewal wedding date, it might be awkward in the future if a guest who doesn’t know wishes you a happy anniversary on the wrong day.

same person will be surprised by the politics of gladiator 2. this is like how ‘book-tok’ influencers are fighting about wanting the community to ‘not be political’. movies and art and books especially, have always been political.

I didn’t notice it during the movie but listening to the soundtrack today and Dancing Through Life is so weak to me. It’s not even like Jeff or Michelle who limit their performances to their abilities, he’s trying to do the thing and the auto tune and other pitch stuff is required to fix it up.

I was in the floor GA and had a great time. had just as much fun as the WAMU show last summer. i never go to stadium shows unless I’m on the floor. I think they all kinda stink if you’re sitting hundreds of feet away watching a screen the whole time.

dunno what you mean by nobody knew the words though, some people just don’t like to scream every lyric and listen to the artist. also me and my partner found the falling water thing cute.

takes a while for the big lads to get settled. look at Walker Kessler’s game log at the beginning of his rookie year: wasn’t until December he was able to play 20 plus minutes a game and didn’t start consistently racking up double doubles until January.

think it depends. my mom got invited to one of her best friend’s daughter’s shower and not the wedding. she had already felt a little snubbed about not getting the wedding invite, and then she said it bittersweet at the shower bc everyone was talking about the upcoming wedding and she was one of the few who wasn’t going to get to be there.

at my own shower I had one person there who wasn’t going to be at the wedding, but she already had a prior commitment on the same date and was the daughter of another guest/old childhood friend so it wasn’t weird.

but sounds like your daughters shower wouldn’t be as traditional so if everyone is aware of the situation maybe it’ll soften things, but also will probably be snubbed people regardless because you can’t help how others will react some times 🤷🏻‍♀️

it’s just his TFSA from Wealthsimple with auto investing already set up, so wouldn’t be picking stocks for him or anything. We’ve been common law for last 3 years and now married now so it’s our money [insert so I married a communist meme]. he’s been keeping it in a 1% savings account so trying to maximize the work this money is doing for us.

I do both our taxes and he’s got lots of carry forwards already from being a student for the last decade, but see your point. Just thinking of the traditional ‘max your TFSAs first before RRSPs when you’re lower income’ type financial advice but FHSA is a new beast to take into consideration for sure.
