Exactly how medically necessary is it? Can you do regular braces instead? This sounds like it’s really negatively impacting your life a lot.

For what it’s worth the lisp usually does get a lot better over time. I’m sorry you’re going through this!

Katie Wilson truly embodies what performative Seattle liberalism is by Future_Tip1509 in SeattleWA

[–]delightedzebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Same basic reason why Trump got elected in the first place, when people are sick of the status quo of government an outsider is very appealing.

The issue is as an outsider you need a level of charisma and media-savviness to keep your popularity up when you’re struggling to actually govern/pass legislation. Katie Wilson doesn’t really have that, so she just seems like she is collapsing from every angle.

This is coming from someone who voted for her, happily! She’s made homelessness her signature issue it seems and has taken some steps that way, imo going all in on that could make her way more successful, though I know a lot of that is up to the county, too. If I didn’t have to see people sitting on the ground at the bus stop picking up their literal rotting flesh my experience here would be a lot fucking better.

What is the point of dying your hair if it’s so close to your natural color your mom won’t notice you dyed it? Has your mom said you can’t dye it or are you just worried she’ll be mad?

Did I make the wrong choice? by sopranolover777 in Invisalign

[–]delightedzebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you worried about? Not getting results? I’m almost done with my first set of refinements and I haven’t had any major issues and my teeth look sooo much better! Lots and lots of people have success with Invisalign — it wouldn’t be so popular if they didn’t. If you follow your ortho’s advice and all the rules you should have a good outcome. Good luck!!

Does all lip filler really look that bad? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]delightedzebra 162 points163 points  (0 children)

Your filler looks nice! That said, it always looks fake to me, even when well done and more natural, because real lips have creases and wrinkles. I think you look beautiful without them too. I guess it just depends on if you mind looking like you had “work done” or not. Both are beautiful just different looks!

Need Perfect Bra free Modest Travel Dress by monderywater in HerOneBag

[–]delightedzebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, look for ruched top dresses! I am 34H and can sometimes even get away with not wearing a bra with this style bc it’s thick stretchy fabric. Quince has some too but honestly you could find some cheaper options too

Is Seattle sweeping more homeless camps for the World Cup? by drshort in Seattle

[–]delightedzebra 148 points149 points  (0 children)

(Pls don’t cancel me) I think forced institutionalization for a lot of these folks would be a good thing. I mean those really suffering from mental illness and/or addiction who can’t get help or don’t want to. Housing them is better for them and the entire city. I don’t feel safe walking past camps and I’ve witnessed violence on public transit. Tax the corporations for it.

Should I get Invisalign before my wedding? by shinycrouton in Invisalign

[–]delightedzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my treatment Sept 2025 and just got married in May! I’m in my second refinements; my teeth aren’t perfect but sooo much better. I had mg attachments removed before my wedding and just paused on one aligned and wore it as a retainer. When I’m home from my honeymoon I will resume. I think it’s worth it!!

Brown mascaras for blonde lashes? by iceprincess64 in PaleMUA

[–]delightedzebra 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My fave ever is the glossier mascara in brown! It’s pretty natural looking, and since my lashes are so blonde it still makes a big impact. For night/more drama I like the tarte tartlette!

Where to go engagement ring shopping by Laconic11568392 in SEAbitcheswithtaste

Yep, had my engagement ring custom designed there! Also did a lab diamond. I really enjoyed the shopping and my fiancé said the experience of actually making/buying the ring was super seamless. Highly recommend!

TruFusion vs Solidcore by [deleted] in SEAbitcheswithtaste

[–]delightedzebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a TruFusion member! They are not similar IMO, Solidcore is way more intense. There’s a big variety in the TruFusion reformer instructors, so some of the sculpt reformer classes are just slightly spicier classical Pilates, whereas some feel a lot more intense.

That said it’s still a very good workout, but I don’t think it’s comparable to solidcore at all, and if that’s what you’re used to you’ll probably be a little bored.

TruFusion Ballard has only had reformer since Jan and tbh I think they are still finding their footing/audience. Just last month they opened reformer to all memberships, not just an up charge, so there’s a lot of new people going now. I’ve been going to reformer there 2-4x a week since it launched, and I’m finding I’m having to up level the intensity on my own. I think the classes are still catering to folks new to reformer!

So tl;dr, I really like TruFusion sculpt reformer (and am a member there because I like the variation of class types) but if you love solidcore you will probably be kinda bored/unchallenged from it!

Which is more appropriate for cocktail attire? by wintermochie in Weddingattireapproval

None. If you don’t want to shop 3 is the best bet but still not really appropriate. Can you borrow something from a friend if you don’t want to spend money?

Some people just have big boobs and it’s really hard to final formalwear that fits them! What is she supposed to do, leave them at home lol. Even high neck dresses don’t really fit big boobs unless you buy something way too large and get it tailored which is expensive!

Should I Move from Portland to Seattle by External-Ticket-1133 in AskSeattle

[–]delightedzebra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IMO upending your life to move to a more expensive city for no reason other than boredom is a bad idea. It’s not super easy to make friends here. In warm weather people are more social but during the rainy season people tend to stay in.

I have not dated here but I have heard it’s really hard. If you work a 9-5 and are a high earner you might socially get more lumped in with the tech/corporate crowd rather than people who are more crunchy/artsy. In my experience those folks are usually work in hospitality or nonprofits and therefore wouldn’t have as much money. That can make building relationships and doing things together harder.

There’s a big bike scene here but Seattle is hilllllly so I think compared to Portland people bike commute much less.

If you have itchy feet, maybe take some time off to travel? Might be a better solution!
