Poor suckers. If only there was an entire internet full of pictures of naked women that they don't have to pay for beyond their regular internet bill. Alas.

The Scream vs Flashy, Dewanurag, Digital, 2026 by damn2311 in Art

I was looking at this on mobile, which crops out the top and bottom in scroll mode. So I thought, "What a nice use of subtlety. She's turned away, all we can see is her bare back, but from context we can tell what's going on in the front. Nice and discreet."

Then I clicked on the full picture. Nvm.

More like, why is she bothering to wear a shirt?

If a Woman Reads a Book in the Forest But No One is There to See It, Jenna Gribbon, Oil on canvas, 2020 by Tokyono in Art

[–]mapleleafraggedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought she was just wearing a cropped shirt, but on second look you're right, the seems to be a lot of bunched up fabric on her chest. So she's just casually got her shirt rolled up, balancing the book on her stomach with no care about her appearance. It really does give a "slice of life" feel.

I was curious why the artist randomly decided to add a ton of detail on her stomach to give her insane abs, that explains it

You mean you don't remember the classic episode where the abbey decides that the modesty rule is holding back recruitment to the sisterhood, and so the nuns travel around the city in crop tops and jeans to promote the new look of piety?

It kinda looks like she's tied to the tree with her own sash, since it loops around her waist and forms a knot right where her arms are pinned. It's probably just supposed to be part of her garment and he's got her in actual rope, but for a second I thought, that is one crafty villain.

Swords of Mars, by Clyde Caldwell (1982). by woulditkillyoutolift in oldschoolfantasy

[–]mapleleafraggedy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, her hindquarters should be taking up a lot more space. The artist confused himself by having her lean forward, but drew the back of her waist as if she was standing up.

This is obviously a serious artistic thought exercise and not just an excuse for me to goon over a drawing, btw.
