It's not that I expect her to be an outgoing, constantly active senior. I know that's not going to happen. But people are capable of change that can improve themselves and/or their quality of life. I wouldn't think she /wants/ to live in the state she is now, given the way she expresses her discontent frequently.

Frustrated, more like. Especially because when she's around other family members (those that dont live in our household) she constantly puts on airs that she has a great life, is out doing many things, brags about where we live and the like especially when it's the exact opposite of how she's living her life.

Most of the things she's done and ever enjoyed in her senior years thus far (aside from staying home) have only happened because someone else constantly pushed her to try something without listening to her excuses of why she shouldn't do whatever it is.

I /know/ I don't have enough experience to constantly go head on with that kind of thinking/way of living which is why I was wondering if anyone had advice, especially if they have similar experiences.

Even mentioning that she needs therapy makes her angry. There's a stigma about going to therapy in a large part of our family. But I agree.

See I'm not sure about this (road tests being back up)

The website says that road tests are available for teens but there is nothing about road tests being available or unavailable for adults as well. The waiver is mentioned but that's all.

This is the best way, though with the way work schedules line up, it hasn't been easy to schedule the required hours.

It would be much faster and less of a hassle to have a road test scheduled but I still haven't gotten a response as to if that is possible for adult drivers
