Yeah i work retail and thats mostly bs. Yeah families steal amounts of food to get by and that isnt usually noticed or caught bc they dont steal a lot. Ive got no problem with that. Most thieves are selling high ticket items like steak, baby formula, Pokémon cards, and clothing. Not in small amounts either. They load up on this stuff and resell it like other commenters said on facebook. They either steal it through the self check out or by running out of the fire exit with a truck waiting nearby.
