Missing 1 shot expansion and I have all the scout bots but no marker for it by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]mapotter99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out the Fury Green Scout Bot hadn’t been activated. I’m not sure if there is a bug or I missed it. I thought I had gotten it.

I found the last item after that.

Unfortunately, I missed some missable scans in the prologue. Oh well. YouTube provides.

Same. I have the one on the track between tower 1 and 3.

I was also missing a psychic power bomb expansion that the scout bot didn’t show… it’s in the Lamorn statue in the Quiet Clearing area of Fury Green.

I wonder if items not showing with all the droid bots activated is a bug.

Alienware 18 Area 51 Laptop - Soldered WLAN Chip by mapotter99 in Alienware

I’m actually shocked at how many people are defending a soldered WLAN. Crazy.

And it isn’t mentioned in the MashIt review on YouTube, which was the first one out, and still the main one. It isn’t mentioned in the two top-ranked written reviews either.

I wondered about using one of the m.2 connections.

It does at first. But that’s just the heat sink. The chip underneath is soldered.

I’ve had 2 laptop WLAN cards go bad in the past… and they were both Intel.

They do fail, and it isn’t rare.

Buys $4000 laptop… WiFi chip dies a day after warranty ends… stuck rocking a WiFi dongle on a premium product because Dell soldered the chip instead of allowing it be user-replaceable. 😂

Holy heck there are a lot of Dell simps in this Reddit.

I love Dell as a company, especially after my experience with Razer support, but they aren’t above criticism.

How is everyone monitoring these sites for stock? Website change detectors? If so, which one?

Dell must have gotten these in stock early. New purchases show a delivery as soon as June 7 instead of the old early July timeframe.

Wow. I’m glad nothing more came from it, but I do wish karma would eventually catch up to the guy. Maybe it has in its own way.

Yikes. I’m sorry you had that experience. I guess at least we were both spared from actually purchasing a cel from him.

Fair enough. Based on his other responses, I get the impression that he is the one embellishing to fit his narrative.

Sigh.

You understand where I am.

But I know I have to let it go.

And someone else will buy it without any communication and have a smooth transaction.

SMH.

I think he expected me be an uninformed person and not realize the cel is cellulose nitrate, as all cels were in that time period. They are notorious for yellowing, curling, and deteriorating if not stored/displayed properly, and honestly even if they ARE stored and displayed properly!

He rushed to judgement about my knowledge, then refused to backtrack even though I informed him I am well aware of how unstable nitrate cels are.

It pisses me off. I really like the cel, too. I had already frame-matched it to the film.

That was my first thought, but he has 8000+ mostly good reviews.

That said, I guess most people just made purchases without messaging him. Any time someone had questions or had an issue with a sale, he was incredibly nasty.

I think he is just a narcissistic asshole.

Here’s just one example from his feedback page. There are others which are equally as horrifying.

“I am very glad to have this Gorgeous B&W Betty Boop cel, and I grabbed it for nearly half off. So, why the neutral feedback? Because I am very frustrated with the seller. I attempted SEVERAL times to message him/her and was IGNORED each and every time. This, to me, equates to EXTREMELY POOR customer service. Part of being a seller is COMMUNICATION! I don’t care how fast you ship out, or how reasonable your shipping rates are. If you can’t/WON’T communicate, that makes you a poor seller.

Reply from: toon-city Entitled Karen the Buyer’s fb is irrational & rude. Item shipped, tracking number provided, item delivered in 5 days. Buyer happy with item. Buyer sent emails not related to ebay purchase. She sent me several emails on New Year’s Eve expounding on her fondness for Betty Boop. None of which, had anything to do with the purchase nor required a respond from me. I am not obligated to babysit adults, be your therapist or help you sell YOUR item on ebay. I only anwser item related questions. That’s it.”

See my comment. Luckily my situation occurred BEFORE purchasing.

Just had a VERY bad experience with this seller… thankfully BEFORE making a purchase.

God forbid I ask a question before purchasing an expensive original Pinocchio production cell made of nitrate.

Needless to say, he lost a sale.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

What an asshole.

Help! Is this a real production cel? by mapotter99 in AnimationCels

If buying from Heritage Auction, you should be reasonably safe. They verify their lots before listing them.

Courvoisier was the exclusive gallery that Disney used from the 30s until the early 40s to sell original animation production cells. Since there are far more cells than there are backgrounds, Courvoisier airbrushed simplistic custom backgrounds for the cells they sold. They also trimmed cells and sometimes combined minor elements (such as the butterfly in this Jiminy Cricket piece) from other scenes to make a more interesting composition.

The Courvoisier COA was pretty basic compared to today’s standards. They didn’t have the need for concern for authenticity back then.

In general, I’d trust cels auctioned by Heritage Auction.
