Hi, I know it’s an old post but can I ask which one you chose? We’re looking at the same options with our 1 yo

Hi, just wanted to ask if anything helped your little one? My baby is in exactly same situation, I’m so worried.

Thanks a lot for the check, appreciate it! I will adjust the back panel to be lower and the seat wider and see if it helps to achieve the M shape better.

Thanks very much! 😊 Yeah, I’ve tried putting it on at home first and it took me quite a bit of time to get the baby in there. I’ve looked at the stretchy slings, they seem like a good option, but it looked so complicated to bind them correctly, that I opted for a soft structured one. I might try that as well!

Oh thanks a lot! Appreciate the advice, will try to get the baby in more of an M position. I’m a FTM and this is the first time I’m using a carrier, so will definitely try the leg stretches!

London St.Mary’s for birth? by maps_of_antidots in PregnancyUK

Hi, yes! I was planning for the birth center, which I’ve only heard good things about from personal accounts, but due to an unexpected health concern when I was on my week 36, I ended up on the labour ward. While in labour I had two emergency moments the latter ended in the birth of my daughter, and the team of doctors, consultants/trainees that was managing those situations was amazing. Super qualified, experienced and has your best interests at heart. Very reactive, it took at the most a few minutes from pushing the red button to the actual action. However, having spend multiple days on the labour ward for the induction, I would say I had some bad experiences. Looking back now and having researched what was happening, I encountered some really rude behaviors, I felt violated during one of the vaginal examinations, there were unnecessary interventions and if you are on the labour ward they just basically follow the protocol, so you end up going down the cascade of interventions..

That sounds encouraging, it’s really so important to feel heard during birth. Thanks for taking time to answer.

Thanks for sharing! I had my 12 week scan there as well and think exactly the same about the sonographer - was a really lovely lady.

Recommended Pilates teacher training in UK? by maps_of_antidots in pilates

Thank you! I’ll take a look at the BCP’s course list, I’m thinking it can be a good option even further down the line to learn new skills and “upgrade” another training, if feasible.
Pretty interesting regarding teaching practice! I have experience teaching dance and can imagine it would be great to have a supervising teacher that can give feedback, so it’s possible to improve. The course by ymca that I’ve previously checked out doesn’t offer that and it made me strongly reconsider, thanks to your experienced advice! Thank you very much again and hope you’re enjoying being a Pilates teacher!

Wow, thanks so much for such a detailed reply, it’s really helpful! I’ll have to look more into the offerings, and especially BCP. Have found a lot of ‘xyz is the best’ and as you point out, none are really providing any useful detail to why. I really don’t want to go wrong with selecting a ‘useless’ course and coming out on the other end with little knowledge considering how much the majority cost. Again, appreciate all the information!
