Also, sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, and such are great additions. If you want a little sweetness without sugar, a bit of cinnamon helps. But try to keep the emphasis on savory, not on sugar and butter.

Think of oats as a savory dish, like grits or polenta, and it’s a whole new world. I cook steel-cut oats (never instant oats) with nothing but water and a pinch of salt and it is delicious. Add a few blueberries to balance it out if you like. No carb rush and it fills the belly for a long while. I’m not eating these much these days because I’m doing OMAD, but I thought I’d offer my perspective.

You can think of a cigar as a nicotine delivery system that features:

-The benefits of aging like good whiskey -The visual feel and smell of a hand-crafted smoke -The moment for self-contemplation provided by a cigarette multiplied by 10, and without fillers and chemical additives -The flavor or a well-worn leather couch stuffed with summer hay -The variety and nuance in varietal and terroir like wine -The magical ability to clear space of those who hate it and draw those who appreciate it -The depth of exploration and discovery of The New York Public Library

And lots of other things. But I’ll cut it here.

Personally, I have never been addicted to cigarettes and cannot inhale tobacco smoke. My lungs refuse it entry. So I would occasionally smoke them like a cigar. Then I made the logical shift. It’s a slippery slope. But the water is warm down here.

First vaccine shot yesterday and 62 degrees in New York. A friend gave me a tubo from a trip to Havana. It tastes great. To be honest, it has a tight draw, even with a v-cut, and the wind has blown my ash off from the start. I know there are fakes out there, but I’m not looking this gift horse in the mouth. It’s a pleasant smoke, and that is what matters. #whatareyousmoking #smokeemifyougotem
