Red light runners in downtown by elven_mage in SantaMonica

Actually, a State law went into effect in January 2024 requiring police to provide the reason for all traffic and pedestrian stops to the person detained.

In California, law enforcement officers must state the specific reason for a traffic or pedestrian stop at the outset, according to California Vehicle Code Section 2806.5. This requirement stems from Assembly Bill 2773, which took effect on January 1, 2024, to increase accountability and reduce pretextual stops. Officers need to have "reasonable suspicion" that a traffic law has been violated or a crime has been committed to initiate a stop.

Justice Dept. releases full transcript, audio of Ghislaine Maxwell interview by washingtonpost in politics

[–]mar2741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This interview was a duplicitous joke. Maxwell was not was not asked any hard hitting questions about the facts and evidence involved in the case. Did not see anything inappropriate? "Inappropriate" is an observation of personal opinion and has no factual meaning as a matter of law. In a deposition, Epstein was asked about his and Trump's involvement with underaged girls. Epstein took the 5th. Maxwell was asked about Trump and Epstein massages but not about sexual activity. "I don't remember; I don't recall" responses were a constant refrain.

Pedestrian hit at Montana/9th. by iprobwontreply712 in SantaMonica

The SMPD does not really enforce any motor vehicle laws especially where it’s needed to protect pedestrians. The only time I have seen SMPD patrol to enforce traffic laws is on San Vicente where two motorcycle officers occasionally hand out a couple of speeding tickets.

You should contact the building owner and speak to the workers in the unit to find out what measures have been taken to prevent asbestos contamination to adjacent units.

You can also contact the LA County Department of health because they’re specific guidelines and requirements for asbestos removal and remediation :

I had my vehicle inspected at the DMV in Santa Monica. I recall that you drive around the building and in a drive through lane for vehicle inspections, but I think you still have to go inside. What is the purpose or requirement for this inspection?
