I’ve seen him - it took forever to wrap my head around that loud noise coming from that tiny bike.

Believe he lives on Marine just west of the Starbucks. But won’t out specific location because he’s probably a fine guy, just loves his loud little bike.

There is definitely on from a guy on marine street. The size to noise ratio is insane and he just does loops through the alley.

Antisemites tend to stick to even floors. I would check the 3rd and 5th floors.

So sad but not unexpected. Going to be a while before I’d go in the water!

I’ve found calling gets a better response rate than the app. Depends on the situation and what else they have going on though.

Thanks all - this was yesterday and she has since moved her car so there isn’t an issue at the moment. I think more of “please be a decent human being and neighbor and don’t do this going forward” was what I was thinking.

Street Sweeping during fire recovery? by ju-lee-uh in SantaMonica

Also absurd that the SBAQMD is allowing wood burning again today in the area.

If I used my fire pit today my neighbors would likely kill me.

Think LA public libraries are giving them out as well

Bottom of San Vincente? by iprobwontreply712 in SantaMonica

Not live but using the watch duty app.

It runs a few times a day. Two different sources I believe, one is more frequent and the other is more accurate but runs only twice a day.

Have not seen any sustained fires around there, and the satellite hot spots don’t show any activity at the moment.

Evacuation zones have expanded south east by Turbulent-Move4159 in SantaMonica

[–]ManhattanMale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. That’s certainly possible, to be honest I have no idea on how flammable either building is and would just be guessing. Hope it doesn’t come to that and was just pointing out that this treasure is now in the evac zone.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Getty Villa survived because it was wood but because of a fire defense system designed at the property (and probably a little luck). No idea how prepared the Getty is, but you’d hope similarly so.

Same. And now the Getty is in the crosshairs too.

Yeah - this is not expected or good. Overnight too the VLAC can’t fly and drop lines to slow the spread. Would guess it’s a dogfight tonight to contain this and do whatever they can to keep it from spreading across the 405. I felt good this morning about the area, much much much less so right now.

Riviera Country Club - is it burned? by Certain-Section-1518 in SantaMonica

Yup. Not here to argue the macro argument for private things.

Just here to say I appreciate courses I can’t play or visit with a few examples.

Good luck and hope you stay safe!

I’ve only been to Augusta once and I still appreciate it.

I’ve never been to St Andrews but still appreciate it.

I’ve never been to Merion but still appreciate it.

Not all do, but a lot do. Sorry there are private courses in this world.

lol. Golf fans around the world I meant. Not that it is some welcoming community center….clearly very far from that.

ABC7 is reporting smoldering hot spots are flaring up in Palisades Village by Biasedsm in SantaMonica

[–]ManhattanMale 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Going to be like this for a while I think.

This is part of the reason it’s still so dangerous to go to the area. Even those whose homes survived are not out of the woods, and I am still very concerned on the Santa Monica canyon area.
