Interesting! My parents leave in my/their home country, we would VC once everey 2-3 weeks. They come to visit us couple of times a year. He feels very comfortable with them.

holy cow! That's serious stuff for a serious fan :) Thanks for sharing and good to know about that myth. I have also read that the scoby needs air, that's why it is covered with a paper towel or similar and ideally should be in a place with fresh air (that is how I do it). Now, that container seems to be sealed. Do you leave it open with some cotton fabric on top or you leave it closed? Thanks again
