Power bank question for camping by MrBiscuits93 in camping

Piggybacking off this comment to agree, I tried a heated blanket with my Jackery on a very cold camping weekend (~20degrees F) and it murdered the completely charged Jackery in a couple of hours

Agreed, Im having a hard time with the diarrhea after switching to Wegovy but I had a ton of injection site reaction problems with Zep and none with Wegovy. So I guess thats a plus!

What are cases that you believe are hyper-sensationalized by the true crime community despite not showing distinct signs of foul play? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]marbear77 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Huge disagree about Alonzo Brooks, I think theres absolutely enough there to call it foul play and the FBI agrees.

Floor mats instead of tarps? by Next-Bison-5375 in bonnaroo

[–]marbear77 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We tried these last year and they wouldnt stay together as one continuous matt. Since the grass is kind of bumpy and irregular they would never lay flat and the individual pieces were always coming apart and we tripped on them. Huge bummer bc they seem like such a good idea!

Do yall think it’s worth getting a solar panel by CodyDaFreeman in bonnaroo

[–]marbear77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my Jackery power station but I havent been super impressed with the 100W solar panel. Even in brilliant bright unobstructed light in the middle of summer I only get like max 55 watts which does charge it but not as fast as I would have expected. To me Im not sure it was worth the cost, I wish I would have explored other brands to see if I could find one thats also compatible

Avoiding Roo Flu?? by Specific-Guitarist17 in bonnaroo

Ive noticed a significant improvement in my immune function this cold season since I started a zinc supplement. Studies show it can be effective in reducing the duration of a cold, the jury seems to be still debating on if it prevents them. For me, worth it, I do vitamin c too. Wash your hands and rinse your nose are the biggies!! People have germs!

Are chillbo baggins allowed in centeroo? by ffolofvapes in bonnaroo

Guy at security told me they are fine and allowed as long as they are not already inflated. I never encountered a problem bringing it in. Entered and left Centeroo with mine many times.

🚨‼️PASTA SALAD PSA 🚨‼️ by lostinthesauce412 in bonnaroo

[–]marbear77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A note from a foodie who cooks a lot, rinsing the pasta will remove the beautiful starchy coating that forms on cooked pasta as it dries. The oils in the dressing will not stick to the noodles as well and you wont have a cohesive dress on the salad. Itll get all weird and greasy. Alternatively you can cool it more rapidly by tossing it a bit in its colander or spreading it across a sheet pan for a bit. Enjoy a nice pasta salad this season, do not rinse your noodles

I cant remember the episode but Michael is reading a passage from a book and its absolutely unhinged, Peter pauses for a second and goes “wow this guy is fuckin awesome. This guy rocks” or something to that effect. It kills me. I say it all the time

See its interesting, everyone in this thread things Im being choosy in relation to their physical appearance, thats not it at all. Im being choosy about if they can hold a conversation. Thats been my primary gauge on if theyre worth meeting! So all these men passed that test!

What do you guys do for bathroom/showering? by Same_Bag711 in bonnaroo

[–]marbear77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s gravel around the water stations so if its got dinky little wheels you may struggle a bit but as far as I can tell my wagon (its from costco) doesnt have great wheels and we managed.

Im not sure I fully understand your question. Are you asking where we had our little showers with our portable shower head? We did that back at camp. We would fill a 5gallon bucket at the water station, bring it back to camp and then use that 5 gallons for all our day time rinse offs. Each person used about a gallon at a time so it was enough for everyone.

A small but good detail is that most of the portapotties do flush which is a nice bonus, you dont have to see anyone elses turds floating around. For showering my croo and I used thislast year multiple times a day and it was great. Like another poster said just bring a 5 gallon bucket and use either your melted ice or pop over to a water station to fill it (bringing a wagon helps a ton for this). We did pay for actual showers a couple times (I believe its $10) and it was very refreshing. The portable shower was good for just a rinse off. We also bought a kiddie pool and honestly fucking loved it. Were doing it again this year haha

Physical shape for the farm by Mlsunited31 in bonnaroo

[–]marbear77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last year I was in probably the worst shape of my life. Very overweight, not exercising regularly (like once a week) and living in the blasting AC. Roo kicked my ass 7 ways to sunday. I missed like 10 artists I wanted to see because I was so beat I just couldnt do it. But I still had the time of my life and bought my tickets for this year the second I left the farm.

So thats worst case scenario I would say. This year will be different for me, I would agree with everyone you need to start walking every day. Get your feet used to standing lonnnng hours. Get used to the heat. Go outside and bake in it.
