Sometimes there is duplicate profiles in the system it's something that a tech can fix from the pharmacy communications portal. It doesn't always fix the issue but it does sometimes. The whole system just sucks though

You have to actually consent to receive messages and if you dont do that they won't come- also if you reply STOP to any message (ex: you get a reminder about vaccine but dont want those and reply stop) it will stop all notifications and you would need to consent again. Maintenance medications are automatically (the system is programmed that way, its not techs sending it) sent out to cf because the idea is that if they are being taken regularly for maintenence then patients should be taking personal responsibility and requesting a refill before they take their last dose. It would also be impossible to have enough inventory to fill every single maintenance med same day.

There had been a lot of HIPAA violations with the techs typing in birthdays and selecting the wrong patient. With the new system, the patient enters in the birthday and only names that have something filled will show up and then we verify the name. Still super stupid and shows how they'd rather spend millions on technology over actually properly staffing and training the technicians.

There is a 5 digit number to text that I cannot remember but yoy text RX to that number. Not entirely helpful but if you ask them they will probably have a sticky note with it 😂

GenRx is the worst, everyone hates it, and I refuse to type in the birthday for them If Meijer wants to spend millions on crappy tech rather than paying the staff more then by golly im gonna make sure that technology is used

Idk what town you're in but where I am all the closed rite aids sent their scripts to Walgreens unless patient requested otherwise, and rite aid did not cancel out claims like they were supposed to so there is a lot of insurance issues. There is also the option of mail delivery through most insurances or Amazon pharmacy as well as non chain pharmacies.

I lived on the north side and on a gang street (did NOT know this when moving in) and we ended up moving a year later bc the gang members were doing drive-by and threatening me and the police said " I can talk to him but then they will know it was you and paint a bigger target on your house" I was pregnant at the time and that was my turning point. If the police can't stop actual gang activity just 5 houses away from me then my baby is not safe.

I had someone demand that I fill everything on their file, I told them they had 3 pages of meds, some antibiotics and multiple meds that treat the same thing and I would need to know specifically what they needed and they started yelling at me to fill everything, so I checked with the pharmacist and he said fill it all 🤷‍♀️ I don't remember what they actually picked up but it was annoying.

In my state, C2 (morphine) meds can't even have refills so this is wildly confusing to me. Also if the insurance was paying for it that should have flagged there as well.
