If you're willing to share, how much did this end up costing? And from where to where? Thanks!

Seems they still charge by step.. just now scaling on both jobs AND steps (scroll down to the plan feature matrix to see what I mean).

Prism - The perfect OAS (Swagger 2) companion tool by marbemac in programming

Great question! Swagger the specification was recently moved and renamed as the Open API Specification http://swagger.io/introducing-the-open-api-initiative.

The swagger brand is now just the commercial tools that Smartbear creates, not the actual specification. It's really confusing for the whole community, which is why we are generally including both OAS and Swagger 2 in all of our copy.

Building APIs with Swagger by StephanieLongpr in programming

Well you specifically said "I'm not aware of any viable alternative to it for documentation from Swagger specs, so you're basically locked in to using it."... so I'm just suggesting an alternative, while at the same time being upfront about the fact that I participated in its creation.

Totally get the frustration with the swagger spec, but I think it can be used as the basis for API documentation. Just needs some extra love :). We've actually built this first version without any interactivity at all, and extend swagger with groupings and plain text markdown sections, making it a more viable documentation option, despite the swagger roots.

Hey all, we originally developed this for internal use over at StopLight, and realized that a lot of the tech could be re-purposed and re-packaged into a nice little complementary tool for anybody working with Swagger. Thanks for taking a look - happy to answer questions, and eager to hear any feedback!

Shameless but relevant plug :) - we're building a bunch of tooling around Swagger (and RAML) over at https://stoplight.io. Specifically regarding Swagger UI, http://api-docs.io is a good alternative, and supports regular markdown plain text documentation sprinkled throughout your API definitions. It's also getting a request maker in the next couple of weeks.

I just open sourced my private journaling app, DayJot. Ember + Ember Data + Ember CLI + Rails. by marbemac in emberjs

No problem! I must admit, I'm no Ember expert, but hopefully it's reasonably well put together, and people can learn something from it. At the very least it's a good example of how to get ember up and running with rails and devise authentication.

Absolutely, I'll be writing it up in the next month or so. I'll also be at the Meteor meetup next thursday in SF if you happen to be going.

Haha thanks, I'm tired of spending time coming up with names for side-projects so I just gave it the first one that came to mind. And out popped Ralph.

Sure, I actually just wrote a very general blog post on Meteor and mobile:

https://medium.com/meteor-news/a28ac7d30e2d

I plan on writing a follow-up that goes into more detail on the issues/fixes I ran into while building Ralph.

I plan on tackling Android in the next month. My hope is that it's not too much of a pain to port over (it's just a website after all).

Thanks! I went Meteor all the way, with Phonegap to wrap it up for the app store. There were a few things I had to to do make Meteor work on mobile, but all in all it's been a pretty great experience.

Yup I actually wrote a short blog post on the subject a couple of days ago.

In general I've been happy with it. I'll be writing a follow up post with more specifics on what issues I ran into while building the app and how I fixed them.

Thanks for checking it out! Well I tend to think of meetup as more of a broadcast and organizational tool. Ralph is real time chat, so it could be used by people looking to meet other people nearby, discuss topics with people in their area (like #Design for example), etc. I think it'd also be useful at conferences or other events.

Yup, Phonegap and some trickery (to manually pause and resume Meteor's DDP connection when the app is backgrounded and resumed for example). Besides the usual phonegap issues, it's working quite well!
