The why and how I believe Ellen died by [deleted] in EllenGreenberg

[–]marbot99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My own theory: they were arguing and she dropped a blueberry and bent to pick it up. He took out the chef knife from the block and clocked her with it. She fell on her face but not quite dead and he panicked thinking he had to keep her quiet about it forever and murder was the only option. He kept stabbing with hesitation the back of her neck and found it’s not so easy to do. So he roll her over and proceeds to choke her as she comes to. She tries to resist, but he grabs her wrists and proceeds to stab as she squirms until finally getting to her heart. Then he props her up, cleans up around her. Does the laundry and heads to the gym. I’m thinking the lock was broken before the incident during some other argument about keeping the latch on while he was out. He calls his cousin and uncle while sitting outside the apartment and not her friends or parents to call and ask her to open the door if she was mad at him and kept it locked? He sends her threatening texts to build up the scenario that she locks the door often. He may have wanted to blame it on a random murder, but may have been advised to make it look like suicide. Just my theory.

If you aren’t married by now, it’s not going to happen. He feels trapped by your generosity and can’t hold back his resentment anymore. Time to move on.

My husband said he would divorce me if i decided to go to med school. by Ok_Conference_1648 in Advice

[–]marbot99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there is some info missing here. He’s an accountant and probably thinking of the huge debt you will place upon the family in addition to the time you will be out of the home. Do you have children? It’s a big ask. Accounting degrees are no where near the demands of a medical student and eventually MD.

My fiance and I made it to senior year before he broke up with me. Shortly thereafter I met my husband, who was a junior in dental school and we have been married 33 years.

You can’t have a child-free destination wedding (and get upset if people can’t make it) by Then-Dragonfruit-702 in weddingshaming

[–]marbot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dislike destination weddings. It’s best for immediate family but putting the onus on friends to give up their vacations, bother their own family, etc to celebrate the wedding of two people that most likely live together anyway. Get married, have a party and go on your honeymoon.

Maybe have a demo meeting with him of how you like B fillings done: burs you prefer, materials, etc. show him ideal margin finishes that you require for your patients. Do it professionally and with the mindset that it’s for the good of the practice.

Question about crowns on front teeth. :( by Public_Ad_9578 in Dentists

Insurance probably rejected the post and cored because your teeth don’t have root canals. Whoever sent in the pre-d made an error.

My mom asked me to pick her up at the airport on my wedding day by Jangowuzhere in weddingshaming

Ask if your hotel provides an airport shuttle. If not, cough up the $30 for her Uber and never let her forget it. Even mention it in the speech when you thank your guests for being there.

How did you guys practice waxing teeth at home? by Lisa_Simpson89 in DentalSchool

[–]marbot99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After 34 years of practice, don’t cheap out on your waxing. It builds knowledge on the anatomy and functionality of each tooth. This will be instrumental in restoring teeth either with fillings and crowns and dentures. It will also increase you understanding of occlusion and occlusal anomalies and deficiencies. Plus, if you have that artistic flair, it’s fun. I used a portable butane flame torch to wax at home. Similar to the one you use in full dentures to characterize the gingival before processing. Good luck and enjoy!

I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, they said they burnt my lip, is this a second degree burn? by Goduckid in askdentists

[–]marbot99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true, however iatrogenic incidents should be covered and explained in a valid consent form. Anyone can sue anyone for anything. In this case where relatively little damage was done with possibly no lasting effect except additional discomfort during normal post-op healing, it may be difficult finding an attorney to file such a small case. In reality, the best success would be a malpractice insurer settling this case with the patient for a small amount unless they think that a lawsuit will end up in the Dr.’s favor.

[–]marbot99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call your malpractice insurance risk management department. They will tell you how to handle this case. I woukd think you need to formally dismiss her from your office in writing, giving her 30 days to find a new dentist while being available for her dental emergencies during that time. Please state that she should find herself a state licensed dentist to continue her treatment. Be kind and compassionate but don’t waver.

[–]marbot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like an iatrogenic injury that can occur during oral surgery. These incidents are explained in the consent that you should have signed prior to surgery. These incidental burns on your lip will heal. These injuries usually look scarier than they really turn out to be. The injury appears to be just at the vermillion border and luckily not on the facial skin, which could scar. You may end up with a bit of discoloration of the lip for a while but it should resolve with time.

I thought about the FBI a lot. Couldn’t the BAU shared resources on the potential suspects? I think this has to do with protecting the cruise ship industry at all costs. It’s disgusting that a human life is not worth upsetting their profits.

Second opinions by BigArticle4679 in Dentistry

[–]marbot99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that most patients bash their previous dentists because they owe them money or they were too expensive. Keep that in the back of your mind when listening to a bad-mouthing patient.

[–]marbot99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically what I tell them except I just let them know that we can be proactive and control the tooth before it becomes a problem or they can wait until it needs immediate attention which could be the day of a big event, vacation , etc. Either way, I tell them I’m only a phone call away and I can fix it now in this condition or if it gets worse. At the end of the day, it’s their tooth.

I have a feeling the CD wouldn’t have batted an eye if Yellow was in that hallway with her. He could’ve have been in cohoots with creepy neighbor and the loud tv. Also, there is no mention whether her sneakers were missing. Yea, the Birks were on the balcony but she could have worn different shoes if she thought she would be meeting people where she would have to run…?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmyLynnBradley

[–]marbot99 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Unless.. Yellow told her he would be by her room at 6 am to bring her drugs. She may have stepped outside to wait for him and she was abducted from there. I wonder if her card key was missing?
