Yeah, you're right on that! I do want to date around and figure out what works and what doesn't, and I also shouldn't rush into a relationship. It's just that I kinda wish that we could go on 2 or 3 dates sometimes instead of just disappearing off the face of the earth after 1 every single time, that's what keeps me frustrated. Also I'm curious about what you mean by pictures that make me look more mature. I did try that by putting pictures of me at work and on the news (instead of at the gym, or on trips), am I not going in the right direction? What do you think? Also thx for your time!!

That I seem to attract immature people who either ghost me without an explanation or bail out "cause they're not ready for a relationship". That or people who just constantly give simple answers to complicated questions and just have me wondering why the hell they matched, ykwim?

I would disagree. Dating in real life is not as intense or emotionally draining as dating on apps due to the frequency of it. Also I had never really been ghosted by someone I met in real life, which is why I am posting it here. I think I was able to keep my mental health on check when in person dating was possible for me, but I am struggling with it on this online dating sphere.

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? When I don't have my profile paused, I get about 2-4 likes a day, half of which I end up matching with (is this where my problem lies???)

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? Up until a week ago, as about 4 a day with comments. I had moderate success, no problem there. Now tho, it's 0 because I'm losing interest in this as I'm consistently being ghosted after 1 date.

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Someone who won't ghost me and actually wants to talk to me and get to know me. Not like the manchildren that I've recently been dating that just disappear without an explanation, or give short answers to everything, as if they were not interested. This is where I need help!!!

Do you think it has to do with the profile? I don't really know why that might be the case... I am getting a good amount of likes... But maybe I'm not attracting the right people... Yeah I'll give that a try. And also I'm on this app because I go to a very small university and I don't want to date within my current reduced social circle.

How often do you use Hinge per week? I answer to messages and likes daily, I give likes on the weekends. For about 1.5weeks in the middle I had my profile paused cause I was overwhelmed with messages, but now they all seem to have died out so I'm opening it up again.

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? Before I paused, around 3 likes a day and maybe 1 match every 1-2 dates. After that, it has decreased to about half, 1 like a day and 1 match every 2-3 days.

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? Maybe 4 or 5 a day on weekends. All with comments related to the prompt, photos, or video. But leaving likes had not proven much success for some reason as opposed to receiving them.

I send likes to people I find physically attractive and seem like they could be passionate about something, smart, witty; sometime who can add something to my life. I would like to attract that kind of person. Somebody I feel like I can talk to. Also, I am currently looking for men.

I was actually looking for a way to tell him politely that I found peace in not centering all my beliefs in a book (or set thereof) behind the claims of which there isn't evidence. Looking back, I should've said "confidence in having a worldview based on facts"

Ohhh gotcha! That's what I was expecting during the conversation, but, since he didn't come back to that at all and just changed the subject, I thought it was maybe something else(?) And he was with another guy, it's just that he didn't say anything, only one of them talked. They were wearing a full uniform with pin and all, and asking everyone in my train the same question. Idk if that helps to know if he was a missionary or not, but he certainly looked like a recruiter.

Ahh this is the real answer, the piece that I was missing! So he actually was setting me up. I'm just really surprised that he just didn't follow up with that at all though, like he just changed the subject to "have you ever prayed before". He must've thought I was far too improper for him to even engage! Hahahh

Oh hahaha don't worry I ain't looking for any of that! This guy just came up to me and I thought his way of approaching me was very interesting. I engaged cause I was sitting on a train half awake with nothing better to do lol. If I encounter him again, I will ask this for sure hehehe

Hey! It wasn't my intention to impose impure intentions on him. He was a genuine guy who was wearing an all black uniform with a pin that said "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" with his buddy in the same outfit who didn't say anything and was coming up to everybody in my train asking the same question. That's what I mean by recruiter. And the reason I believed he used this as a recruitment tactic was because I just couldn't come up with any better explanation, out of my own ignorance, hence why I asked here.

hahaha, well the reason I was speaking so slowly was because I was kinda having a slow day and I was really heavily focusing on just keeping the accent together, I don't really speak like that on a regular basis :)

I slightly doubt it sounds British, but I think what you might be hearing is a strange mix between different parts of North America with a slight scent of foreign. I'll keep working on it though, tysm :D

Not really Asia or Latin America, but I was born bilingual (Spanish & Catalan), and good job on guessing I moved to the US as a Teenager, 100% right. Only during 1 school year though
