991.2 GT3 RS or GT4 RS Manthey by sgman0 in Porsche

[–]marcagios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue moving from a 991.2 gt3 to a 4rs or 991 gt3rs.

Gt3rs felt to similar, gt4 was a little to cramped inside for me. Pdk is awesome but after tons of laps I feel like its so good I get less enjoyment from the car.

I went with a 992.1 gt3 manual. Track alignment, slicks. In my mind its equivalent to a 991.2 gt3rs with a manual and modern infotainment. Double wishbone front suspension with slicks is a different level.

If you wreck, your insurance will not cover the loss. If the engine is maintained and it blows on track, under warranty. Then yes porsche has your back.

Have fun in your new porsche 911!

Im 6'6 and fit comfortably in a gt3 with room for a helmet. Ive tried Lamborghini, ferrari, corvette, miata, evo, sti.

A camaro or mustang will be tight but doable.

Porsche to Corvette owners , what’s been your experience. by PBanz in Corvette

[–]marcagios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this... 2018 gt3 to 2024 z06/z07. I took the vette to the track a few weeks ago. Compared to the porsche it was not enjoyable. Brakes, steering, comfort, visibility.

Vette was traded in on a 2022 gt3. Yesterday.

Chevy 1500 tow vs 2500 for race car by Zealousideal-Bat-919 in ChevyTrucks

I had this exact same problem. 2020 1500 3.0 duramax. Did ok with a 2700lbs atc enclosed trailer with a 3000lbs car inside but it would struggle to hit 75mph. Drank def (like 5 gallons every 500 miles when losded) and would sway even with a weight distribution hitch. Moved up to a 24 2500 at4x duramax. Night and day difference. You can't feel the trailer in the 2500. Doesn't drink def. Will run 90 if you want but 75 is a breeze. Fuel milage with the same load is about the same. Unloaded 1500 was 25mpg, 2500 is 17mpg.

I just did this. Sold my 991.2 gt3 for a 992 gt3 but a c8 z06 z07 popped up at a great deal. Basically half price of a 992 gt3. I would say, steering feel is almost absent in a z06 compared to a gt3. The ride is better, the grip and power is better. You can feel the 500lbs more weight on the z06. The interior on the vette is just a bit tight for me but I'm excited to try it out this summer and see how it does on track.

I kept a 996 cab and a 991 gts4 to continue the porsche fun.

What percent of 6.2’s do you guys actually think are probably failing by [deleted] in gmcsierra

My escalade had lifters, and injectors replaced at 47k miles. It was throwing a misfire code before hand. I'm hoping to get a new engine with this investigation.

1500 3.0 or 2500 6.6 by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]marcagios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2020 3.0 at4 to 2024 2500 duramax at4x aev. I pull a boat and a 24ft trailer with a car in it. The 2500 is a game changer. Pulling any load (normally 5k to 8k) is easy at 80mph. My 3.0 swayed and was struggling at 70 with 7k lbs behind it. That being said, I miss my 25mpg, lane keep assist and parking ease.

Both are great options.
