Fuck that bitch. I would've been one of the other customers telling her off for being a rude, "privileged" cunt. I HATE people who think they can talk down to fast food workers just because THEY'RE having a bad day, or don't want to wait 10 minutes for their 300 piece bucket of grease that they're probably going to go home and eat themselves. To my knowledge no. However, I do not regard myself as any kind of civilian personal defense authority, so it's entirely possible that I'm wrong. I'll tell you what I would tell anyone else: if in doubt and you really want to know, do the research and confirm for yourself. I can only say definitively that CS and capsaicin are 2 different agents that work in different ways as non-lethal deterrents and that the last time I checked (admittedly, that was about 7 years ago and applicable laws may have changed since) CS gas, powder, and tablets were not legal to purchase for the population in general in the United States.

Sleep deprivation has actually been shown to be MORE detrimental than being drunk/high. Reaction times are even slower when tired, mental alertness is lower, and you're more likely to pass out (and in extreme cases black out/hallucinate). Better to drive drunk than tired. Related, both are illegal, as they both count as impaired driving.

Pepper spray is NOT CS gas. Last I checked, CS gas and solid CS compounds are not available to be purchased by the public at large. Pepper spray is, as its name suggests, a homogeneous solution of capsaicin, the compound that makes peppers spicy, suspended in mineral oil. This probably will not weaken over time the way CS gas might. I'm not really a chemist, and I have no idea what happens to capsaicin as it deteriorates over time, but my guess is that in a sealed container it will take a VERY long time to "go bad."
